Afghanistan
Taliban faction open to ties with Israel, Afghan source says
[Ynet] Hundreds of Islamist group's members, including brass hats, are 'interested in establishing confidential relations' with Jerusalem in hopes of eventually achieving bilateral agreement

Afghanistan's Taliban
...Arabic for students...
— one of the world’s most austere Islamist regimes — may be reconsidering its stance toward the State of Israel, i24NEWS reported Tuesday, citing an Afghan source.

A former Afghan official living in Kabul, and involved in discussions with decision-makers and ministers from within the Taliban government, spoke to i24NEWS on condition of anonymity to ensure his safety to speak freely on how he sees the future of relations between Afghanistan and Israel.

"In the preliminary stages, they are interested in establishing confidential relations with the intension to see these negotiations bear fruit in years or even a decade," the source said. However,
those who apply themselves too closely to little things often become incapable of great things...
the final goal of this effort from within the Taliban is to reach a bilateral agreement between Israel and Afghanistan.

The source stressed that this policy does not represent an official direction from the Taliban government, but is rather an opinion held by individuals within the group.

The faction that supports this policy direction numbers around 200 individuals at various levels of the Islamist group, including brass hats.

"They want to empower and sustain their regime. Therefore, they need to form strong relations with superpowers in the region, and they see Israel as a strong influencer."

Israel is powerful and influential within the Middle East and the wider world, and on the global economic stage, the source continued, admitting that he is in contact with an Israeli activist muppet.

In response to questions about the Paleostinian-Israeli conflict, the source referred to the Abraham Accords signed in recent years between Sunni-Moslem states and Israel, backed by the United States.

"Some Moslem countries made ties with Israel because it is in their national interest, and we also have our own national interest," he noted.

Bahrain, the United Arab Emirates, Morocco and Sudan are parties to the Abraham Accords normalizing relations with Israel.

i24NEWS reached out to Israel's Foreign Ministry for its stance on establishing relations with Afghanistan's Taliban government but did not receive a response in time for publication.

A month prior to the interview, Dr. Muhammad Naeem, the spokesperson for the Political Office of the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan, was asked by Al Jazeera if the Taliban ruled out establishing relations with Israel.

"What problem do we have with Israel? Next thing someone will ask whether we are willing to have a dialogue with Mars," was his response.

Hamas, a contraction of the Arabic words for "frothing at the mouth",' Ismail Haniyeh
...became Prime Minister of Gaza after the legislative elections of 2006 which Hamas won. President Mahmoud Abbas dismissed Haniyeh from office on 14 June 2007 at the height of the Fatah-Hamas festivities, but Haniyeh did not acknowledge the decree and continues as the PM of Gazoo while Abbas maintains a separate PM in the West Bank...
meeting a delegation from the Taliban after the May conflict against Israel

Just over a year ago in September 2021, Zabihullah Mujahid, the Taliban’s spokesperson, told Russian media outlet Sputnik that the Taliban sought ties with the U.S. and other nations of the world, but ruled out diplomatic relations with Israel.

Since then, however, Mujahid seemed to have softened his rhetoric.

"In the last... 50 years, Arabs and Iranians have intoxicated our peoples’ minds against Israel with propaganda that Israel is our main enemy in the world... nobody can dare to speak about Israel and any partnership for fear that it will cost their life, their social standing or political career," he said.

#1  Moslems. Not an iota of shame. No sense of fcuking loyalty to anything or anyone. Such transparent lickspittle shitkickers. It's just beg, beg, beg, guilt everyone into giving, then stabbing you in the ass.

I pity the fools who get taken in by them.

Egypt Recruiting Somali Soldiers Amid Horn Power Struggle With Ethiopia
Turkey and Iran, now Egypt and the UAE. Anyone else interested in being helpful?
[ShabelleMedia] Egypt is recruiting thousands of soldiers in Somalia in a project funded by the United Arab Emirates amid an escalating power struggle with Æthiopia in the Horn of Africa.

Egyptian and UAE military and intelligence officials have been flocking to Mogadishu over the past weeks with an intention to sign up thousands of Somali recruits, who would then be transferred to Egypt for a military training. The first batch of about 1200 recruits travelled to Egypt last week. Egyptian and Emirati officials want to hit a recruitment goal of 8,000 soldiers within weeks.

In 2018, Somali authorities disbanded a loathed UAE-trained army faction for advancing foreign interests and an Emirati military base in Mogadishu was ordered to close. Many analysts said at the time the move was made due to bitter rivalries between Gulf Arab nations.

Saudi forces intensify recruitment for terrorist organisations in occupied territories
[HODHODYEMENNEWS] Soddy Arabia
...a kingdom taking up the bulk of the Arabian peninsula. Its primary economic activity involves exporting oil and soaking Islamic rubes on the annual hajj pilgrimage. The country supports a large number of princes in whatcha might call princely splendor. When the oil runs out the rest of the world is going to kick sand in the Soddy national face...
intensified on Wednesday its recruitment for terrorist groups in areas southern Yemen
...an area of the Arabian Peninsula sometimes mistaken for a country. It is populated by more antagonistic tribes and factions than you can keep track of...
This coincides with the repositioning of al-Qaeda and ISIS elements in those areas.

The southern expert in Saudi affairs, Muhammad bin Faisal, considered the activity and recruitment of "terrorist groups" in southern Yemen as "very frightening", trying to hold the "Brotherhood" associations responsible for facilitating that activity.

Bin Faisal’s remarks came after news of the re-establishment of al-Qaeda camps in Abyan
...a governorate of Yemen. The region was a base to the Aden-Abyan Islamic Army terrorist group until it dropped the name and joined al-Qaeda. Its capital is Zinjibar. In March 2011, al-Qaeda in the Arabian Peninsula declared the governate an Islamic Emirate after seizing control of the region. The New York Times fastidiously reported that those in control, while Islamic hard boyz, are not in fact al-Qaeda, but something else that looks, tastes, smells, and acts the same. Yemeni government forces launched an effort to re-establish control of the region when President-for-Life Saleh was tossed and the carnage continues...

Yemeni diplomat calls Western sanctions 'economic terrorism'
[HODHODYEMENNEWS] Member of the Yemen
...an area of the Arabian Peninsula sometimes mistaken for a country. It is populated by more antagonistic tribes and factions than you can keep track of...
i negotiating delegation, Abdul-Malik al-Ajri, has described the West’s sanctions as "economic terrorism that goes beyond the politicisation of the economy."

"The West criticised the Arabs’ ban on exporting oil to countries supporting Israel in 1973 and considered it a form of "politicising the economy and turning oil into a weapon," and yet today the torrent of sanctions has reached to the extent of banning cats and books of literature," al-Ajri said on Twitter.

He pointed out that this phenomenon has gone beyond the politicisation of the economy to a new form of terrorism.

"An economic terrorism that will outweigh all other forms of terrorism in terms of damages."

Russian military source reveals details on kamikaze drones used in highly efficient airstrikes
[HODHODYEMENNEWS] A source in the Russian military has revealed that the Russian armed forces have so far used several hundred homemade loitering ammunition and drones in Ukraine.

The source said: "Since the beginning of the special military operation in Ukraine, the Russian military has already used several hundred homemade loitering ammunition. We’re talking about "Kamikaze drones "CUBE" and "Lancet".

"Russian suicide aircraft show high efficiency in destroying the anti-aircraft missile systems of Ukrainian forces, as well as various types of radar stations, including anti-battery combat stations and radars of the Ukrainian air defense system," he added.

In addition, loitering ammunition is highly effective in destroying the enemy’s manpower both outdoors and in shelters.

He explained that among the guaranteed efficiency of these aircraft is the low level of their physical spectrum — they can hardly be seen by radar and thermal devices, and in the range of the visual or acoustic spectrum. Ukrainian murderous Moslems can only hear the sound of the march flying at the last minute, after it is too late.

Peace with Tajikistan not possible for now: Kyrgyzstan's defense ministry
[ENGLISH.ALARABIYA.NET] Kyrgyzstan’s defense ministry said Wednesday that peace with Tajikistan was not possible under the current circumstances, a month after border festivities between the two Central Asian neighbors left around a hundred people dead.

Tajikistan later accused its neighbor of seeking to "escalate" the situation near the border.

Clashes regularly erupt between the two former Soviet republics, as around half of their 970-kilometer (600-mile) border has been contested since the end of the Soviet Union.

Fighting last month in the southern Kyrgyz region of Batken, bordering Tajikistan, left around a hundred dead according to authorities from both sides.

Both Tajikistan and Kyrgyzstan are members of the Russia-led Collective Security Treaty Organization (CSTO), a regional military alliance.

Kyrgyz Defense Minister Baktybek Bekbolotov said Wednesday that he recently met with CSTO Secretary-General Stanislav Zas and "told him that there would be no peace between Kyrgyzstan and Tajikistan."

"Kyrgyz people have their truth, Tajik people have theirs," Bekbolotov told a presser in the Kyrgyz capital Bishkek.

"Until an arbitrator comes between us, there will be no peace," he added.

He suggested the deployment of a "small contingent" of CSTO peacekeepers that would carry out "ceasefire control and the withdrawal of heavy equipment from the border."

According to the minister, Kyrgyzstan is also purchasing S-125 "Pechora-2BM" missile systems from Belarus, which will be delivered "by the end of the month" and deployed in the boder town of Batken.

A spokesperson for the Kyrgyz parliament told Russian news agency TASS that on Thursday politicians will consider a bill facilitating the procedure for firearms permits in the border regions with Tajikistan and Uzbekistan.

Also on Wednesday, Tajikistan’s border guard service accused Kyrgyzstan of "deliberate actions to escalate the situation in the border areas," the Khovar news agency reported.

It accused Kyrgyzstan of repeated "violations" of the Tajik airspace, including near the town of Isfara close to Batken.

Earlier this week, Kyrgyz President Sadyr Japarov asked his Russian counterpart Vladimir Putin
...President-for-Life of Russia. He gets along well with other presidents for life. He is credited with bringing political stability and re-establishing something like the rule of law, which occasionally results in somebody dropping dead from poisoning by polonium or other interesting substance. Under Putin, a new group of business magnates controlling significant swathes of Russia's economy has emerged, all of whom have close personal ties to him. The old bunch, without close personal ties to Putin, are in jail or in exile or dead from poisoning by polonium or other interesting substances...
to help resolve the border dispute.

China-Japan-Koreas
China investing in Middle East security infrastructure, will compete with US -report
[Jpost] As competition between the United States and China ramps up, the Middle East will again be a key arena.

A new report examining China’s security presence in the Middle East suggests that as competition between the United States and China ramps up, the region will again be a key arena.

According to the Washington Institute for Near East Policy report, China’s presence in the region has mirrored its rise as a global power.

“What began as a strategy to advance its economic interests has gradually evolved to include an increasingly expansive array of military-security interactions with the Middle East and North Africa countries,” it reads. “Today, China has put in place the infrastructure for deeper security ties in the region.”

According to the report, to avoid turbulence with longstanding US partners in the region, the United States must establish and communicate to them what it sees as the acceptable parameters of its security relationships with China. “In doing so, Washington can avoid unnecessary escalation with China, maintain its regional network of defense partnerships, and find a way toward a sustainable long-term presence in the Middle East and North Africa.”

“Defense relationships in the Middle East and North Africa – home to some of the world’s largest arms importers – will become complicated as some countries decide to procure weapons from both parties,” the report predicts.

To compete diplomatically with China in the region, the report recommends that the US reverse the 2017 decision to reduce its corps of generals and admirals from 963 to 852 starting in 2023.

“Reports over the summer indicated the chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff was recommending fulfilling this requirement by downgrading senior defense official/defense attaché (SDO/DATT) positions around the world, many of whom are one – or two-star generals. This is an inexplicable decision in an era of great power competition, where the global US network of security relationships is a clear advantage.”

It also calls on the US to expeditiously identify and convey the risks a relationship with China may have on security cooperation with the United States. “Without doubt, some countries in the region will seek to balance between security cooperation with the United States–in the form of security commitments, procurement, joint exercises, and intelligence sharing – and a closer relationship with China,” the report reads. “As the UAE example shows, however, there are limits to this balancing act. Countries that partner with Huawei in their 5G networks, purchase advanced Chinese platforms, and allow secret Chinese military installations likely present too much risk to acquire the most advanced US weaponry. Washington should make that point repeatedly to partners in the region looking to deepen their ties to China.”

“There’s a strong argument to make that Israel was the first true trial run of what happens when the US shifts its focus to great power competition in the Middle East,” says Grant Rumley, the report’s author.

WHO IS GRANT RUMLEY?
Grant Rumley previously served in both the Trump and Biden administrations as an adviser for Middle East Policy in the Office of the Secretary of Defense in multiple roles, including as deputy chief of staff, Syria director, Jordan director, and Israel director.

He gave as an example the Haifa Port saga. “Israel announces the Haifa Bayport arrangement with the Shanghai International Port Group (SIPG) at around the same time the Pentagon releases the National Defense Strategy and says competition with China and Russia is our principal priority. This immediately raised some alarms in DC, because here was our closest partner in the region signing an agreement with a Chinese entity over a facility the US has used for military purposes in the past,” said Rumley.

“There was this, perhaps naive, sense in DC that since we had shifted our focus to great power competition, our partners should do the same ASAP,” he continued. “And obviously that hasn’t been the case for a lot of partners. Some partners have shifted or are shifting, but others are simply going to hedge their bets and try to maintain ties with both the US and China and Russia.”

He went on to say that for Israel, which has clearly prioritized its relationship with the US, the course correction was quick. “Israel started screening Chinese investments and coordinating more with the US on this front. I think that’s the model framework for countries in the region and around the world that have some economic relationship with China but want to keep the US as their primary security partner.”

Asked whether he believes that the US would pursue a similar path with other countries, he said that a lot of countries want closer security coordination with the US, including faster arms deliveries and access to new and previously-unavailable platforms, but when they don’t get this, “some have shown a willingness to turn to alternative sources.”

“I think the US would be willing to explore putting these types of things on the table to keep them from looking elsewhere, but we’d want assurances that our proprietary information wouldn’t be at risk if a country chose to turn to China or Russia,” he said.

“These types of assurances are possible, I think, when both sides have consistent and frank discussions early where we set the parameters of what would and wouldn’t jeopardize closer security coordination with the US. I think the US and Israel have established this understanding, and I do think the US is looking at that as a potential model for moving forward with other partners,” he added.

Gruesome killing of 12-year-old girl by Moslem migrant colonist shocks France and sparks far-right backlash
[NBCNEWS] The killing of a 12-year-old girl whose body was found inside a plastic trunk has left La Belle France "profoundly shaken" and led to accusations that far-right politicians have politicized her death to attack the government's immigration policies.

The girl, identified by authorities only as Lola, was last seen alive on surveillance camera footage in her apartment building in northeast Gay Paree at 3:15 p.m. local time (9:15 a.m. ET) on Friday, the Gay Paree state prosecutor said in a statement Monday.

The numbers 0 and 1 were written in red ink on the bottom of each of the victim’s feet — a macabre detail in a case that has left La Belle France "profoundly shaken, faced with the horror and the pain," government front man Olivier Véran told news hounds Wednesday, according to The News Agency that Dare Not be Named.

An autopsy revealed Lola had died of "cardio-respiratory failure with manifestation of asphyxia," and there were signs of cervical compression, the prosecutor's statement added.

A 24-year-old woman who was arrested Saturday in a northeastern suburb of the capital is in jug on charges of murder and rape of a minor, torture, acts of barbarity and concealment of a corpse, the Gay Paree state prosecutor said Monday.

A 43-year-old man is also in jug, charged with helping to hide the girl’s body, according to a prosecutors’ statement. Four others have been released without charge.

Justice Minister Eric Dupond-Moretti told the National Assembly on Tuesday that the arrested woman was given an order to leave La Belle France on Aug. 22. The suspect was unknown to the police, he added, but was herself a victim of violence.

She entered the country legally in 2016 after obtaining a student visa that had since expired, Veran said. In August, when she landed at Gay Paree’s Orly airport, authorities noticed her flawed immigration status and issued her an order to leave French territory before letting her in, the government front man explained.

Far-right politicians have since lashed out at French President Emmanuel Macron's centrist government and blamed its immigration policies for the girl’s death.

"Once again, the suspect of this barbaric act should not have been in La Belle France. What are you waiting for to act so that this illegal immigration out of control is finally stopped?" Marine Le Pen, who this year ran for president unsuccessfully for a third time, tweeted Tuesday.

French Prime Minister Elisabeth Borne told a parliamentary session later that day that Le Pen should "show some decency and respect for the grief of the family."

Eric Zemmour, the far-right controversialist who came to prominence during this year’s presidential election before his challenge faded, called the death a "Francocide," the targeted death of a French person, in a tweet Monday.
Dhabia B., the Algerian illegal migrant woman accused of raping and murdering 12-year-old French girl Lola last Friday, is said to have been under a deportation order and should have been removed from the country last month.

The 24-year-old Algerian illegal was arrested for the murder of 12-year-old Lola over the weekend and indicted for murder, torture, rape and acts of barbarism earlier this week by prosecutors in Gay Paree.

However,
some men learn by reading. A few learn by observation. The rest have to pee on the electric fence for themselves...
it has emerged that the Algerian woman, who entered La Belle France under a student residence permit in 2016, was subjected to a deportation order and was obliged to leave the country before September 21st of this year, Europe1 reports.

Following her arrival in 2016, French state services lost track of the Algerian but on August 21st she attempted to fly from Gay Paree’ Olry airport where she was arrested for lacking a valid residency permit.

She was later questioned by police and subjected to an obligation to leave French territory (OQTF) that day by the French Interior Ministry. Despite this, no effort was made by French authorities to actually deport the 24-year-old back to Algeria, with some noting that 12-year-old Lola may still be alive if the deportation had been carried out.

On Wednesday, a French police officer from the department of Essonne noted that deportation orders are rarely ever carried out, even if the illegal migrant has a criminal record.

"There is a non-application of the law," the officer said and added, "When we control someone, even if he has committed a crime, the OQTF is [put on hold] because the service in charge always sends us the same decision, namely to let the person go, reminding him that we must comply with the law of the country that no longer welcomes him."

The lack of deportations in practice comes despite promises by Interior Minister Gerald Darmanin earlier this year to do more to facilitate the deportation of criminal migrants colonists. In July, Darmanin called for reforms to allow deportations of criminal migrants colonists no matter what their legal status was.

"Today, a foreigner who has committed serious acts is not expellable as long as he meets certain conditions, such as arriving on the national territory before the age of 13," he said and went on to add, "We want to allow the expulsion of any foreigner found guilty of a serious act by the courts, regardless of his condition of presence on the national territory."

#4  We acted back in 2015, when this story was published. Now the mighty ISIS caliphate is conquered, its women and children in prison camps, while those few of its fighters that escaped imprisonment and death are now scattered and in hiding.

We even got back some of those Yezidi slaves — girls, boys, and women — though too many of those that lived are still held by their buyers, who see nothing wrong with what they did.

If the world was so convinced of the evil of the daesh, why couldn't it suspend those conventions and kill them all? Because they wouldn't hear the end of it from the yoo enn that's why. Truth is, nobody gives a fcuk about some poor desert gal, they're all just justifying their stupid existence.

Netanyahu reveals Israeli arms exports have been used by Iran against IDF in Syria
[IsraelTimes] Former PM tells US TV that Israeli weapons exports have fallen into ’Iranian hands’ and were used to target Israel; In 2021, Israel exported $11.3 billion in arms.

Opposition Leader Benjamin Netanyahu acknowledged that Israeli weapons supplied to foreign governments have been used against the IDF in the field of battle during an interview with US television on Wednesday.

While Israel is known as a major exporter of arms to foreign governments, Israeli officials are generally cagey about providing any details on arms exports, and the eventual destination of the weapons.

Asked about Ukrainian requests for Israeli air defense systems, Netanyahu told MSNBC that "weapons that we supplied in one battlefield end up in Iranian hands used against us."

"This has happened time and again," Netanyahu added.

The former prime minister cited an incident on the Syrian side of the Golan Heights in which the IDF "encountered Israeli-made weapons" in a place "where we are trying to prevent Iran

front, a second terrorist front against us."

Netanyahu may have been alluding to a 2016 incident in which drone technology originally sold to Russia was then sold to the Iranian military, who deployed the Russian-manufactured drone against Israel.

Ironically, the Israeli Air Force reportedly failed to down the drone with two patriot missiles, instead calling on Russian Air Force capabilities to down the aerial vehicle.

In the TV interview, Netanyahu placed his support behind the "pragmatic" policies of the Lapid government regarding Ukraine. Israel has continuously rejected requests to supply arms, instead agreeing to provide Ukraine with defensive equipment and humanitarian assistance.

On Wednesday Defense Minister Gantz reiterated that Israel will not supply weapons to Ukraine, although he offered to help Ukraine build an early warning system.

Israel is hesitant to antagonize Russia, which maintains a large military presence in Syria.

Israel’s arms exports make up a significant part of its foreign trade. In 2021, Israel exported $11.3 billion in arms, representing 8 percent of exports that year.

A few months ago, Gantz told The Times of Israel’s Hebrew site Zman Israel that the value of defense exports in 2022 will far exceed that of 2021.

As early as June 2022, Defense Ministry data showed a large jump in exports following Russia’s invasion of Ukraine, which led to an increase in purchases made by Western countries.

Israel sees defense exports as key to driving upgraded ties with countries around the world, but it has come under scrutiny for sales of weapons, drones and cyberspying technology to regimes accused of having spotty human rights

#1  "Israel has continuously rejected requests to supply arms, instead agreeing to provide Ukraine with defensive equipment and humanitarian assistance."

That is what is known as disinformation, or in other words a mainstream media lie.

What's this? Tavor rifles? From Israel? Gosh, it's almost as if Israel supports Ukraine Nazis. Oh wait they do. Tavor rifles are produced under license from Israel Weapon Industries and as such were manufactured and exported authorized by Israeli government bodies.

Israel sending arms to Nazis. We really are in clown world.

#4  Because it is inconceivable that an interested party might have a legally acquired supply of Israeli weapons, which they subsequently donated to the Ukrainian cause?

#5  I think that's the Fort 221, a CTAR21 jointly built by IMI and RPC Fort especially for Ukrainian special forces.

No, Skidmark — it’s Dron or Spike the Hairy6811 (or both) who is right about the weapon. I can’t imagine any situation when I would be right about a weapon, except perhaps philosophically.

Thinking further in the subject, it seems to me the possibilities are that either someone donated them to Ukraine, who handed them off to Azov, someone donated them directly to Azov, they picked up a bunch of them left behind by retreating Russian troops, or finally Ukraine bought them directly from Israel either before all this nonsense started or recently. Lots of possibilities, only one of which is Israel breaking its own recent embargo. But I have no doubt the truth will out eventually.

Fify. Look at the patch in the photo, dear

Azov on the left arm (shoulder?), Ukraine on the right arm — so it looks like we’re both right, Black Bart Bonaparte8931. A happy thought.

High Court hears petitions to block Lebanon maritime deal
[JPost] Ben-Gvir: Let IDF intel chief deny negotiations only restarted for elections

The High Court of Justice on Thursday heard multiple petitions seeking to block the government’s proposed maritime deal with Lebanon.

It was unclear when High Court President Esther Hayut, Justice Uzi Vogelman and Justice Noam Sohlberg would vote on the issue, though a decision was expected soon with election day set for November 1.

In one of the most dramatic points of the hearing, Religious Zionist Party MK Itamar Ben Gvir alleged that negotiations between Israel and Lebanon had blown up and were frozen, restarting only because of election season.

Pressed on the issue by Hayut about whether he had proof of this, Ben Gvir demurred, but then lashed out at IDF intelligence and the Foreign Ministry.

Anticipating that the justices would be hearing from IDF Intelligence Chief Aharon Haliva in a closed classified session, he urged Hayut to interrogate him over whether negotiations only restarted around the same time as election season kicked into high gear.

Israel unveils new S-80 corvette missile ship to withstand future threats
[JPost] Israel Shipyards intends to make the new S-80 its flagship vessel for the next decade, serving the needs of the Israeli and foreign navies.

Israel Shipyards unveiled its new generation SAAR S-80 Corvette class with increased weapon suite capacity and a longer range designed to withstand future threats.

Based on the S-72 platform, the S-80 Corvette features greater versatility and a higher payload capacity with increased weapon suite capacity and a wider spread of Electronic Warfare (EW) systems as part of the platform's offensive advantages.

The vessel is 80 meters in length and is powered by four diesel engines for a top speed of more than 28 knots. The S-80 will be equipped with a state-of-the-art control system, a health management system and advanced surface-to-air capabilities, as well as various combat systems according to the requirements of the customer.

By minimizing radar cross section (RCS), the S-80 allocates larger deck space for additional weapons systems.

According to the company, the vessel "can be adjusted to accommodate Corvette or as an OPV [Offshore Patrol Vessels] version, depending on the operational requirements."
