#1  Doesn't $20k typically exceed the net value of most used EV's? Would bank refin the replacement?

Hell a gas rebuilt replacement engine would only run around $3,500.

BTW: what is environmental impact and desposial charges for the dead battery?

#2 Wait until the green owners see the environmental damage done to dig up lithium for Electric Vehicle batteries and how messy they are to dispose of. Best to pay the bill and put your head back in the sand.

#3 Think "used tire disposal fee," but with eye watering sticker shock.

#4 "I don’t understand why they make the battery so expensive when you have to change it," Phyllis Lau

Because you and everyone who bought one without considering maintenance costs and responsibilities are fucking idiots and part of the problem.

#5 ...Like I always say - if you think gas is expensive now, wait till you see how much it costs to drive when you don't use it any more.

#6 "I don’t understand why they make the battery so expensive when you have to change it," Phyllis Lau, who owns a 2018 KIA Soul all-electric vehicle, told CTV News Toronto.

Agree totally with #4 on this one. I would advise her never to buy/invest/purchase things that you don't understand. That is the definition of "sucker." And there are a lot of you. But I do sincerely hope you learned something from this.

#7 If you really need to have one, by all means do so. I'm not going to tell you how to spend your hard earned money.

But please, please, please sell it a bit before 80k miles to some deserving greenie.
