1 US State Department Issues Travel Advisory for Belgium

The State Department also issued travel advisories for France, Italy, Germany, and Spain. All four have been given a “Level 2-Exercise increased caution” designation since May 2025, warning about various risks including terrorism and unrest.

3 Merz seems to plan a crackdown on free speech in response to this attack.

Here's the key quote from his speech:

"But I would also like to address a very personal message to the queer community.

Ladies and gentlemen, it is not just an attack like the one last night that threatens our freedom. Intolerance, exclusion, discrimination, thoughtless remarks, and bad jokes are already part of this kind of violence—not just what we experienced last night, and what you were forced to endure."

IOW Charlie Hebdo was just as violent as the totalitarian Muslims because of bad jokes.
