We have been hearing Freezing Temps, Ice/Rain for several days now.
A repeat of last weekend, with this time as far south as Savannah GA. predicted with serious issues.

Well it did boost the economy here, with a lot of panic buying.

But! Weather forecast maps now show mainly rain with a slight chance of some late night near freezing temps below Atlanta for us further south.

9 In South Middle Tennessee, we're supposed to get snow, then ice then snow again. Reminds me of a storm when I was in college - known thereafter as "The Day it Rained Trees"

11 Connecticut. About a 1/2" last night, possibly 12"-18" Sunday into Monday. A significant storm, but not going to break any records. The extreme cold is the bigger threat.

Maryland and parts south are not used to these storms and don't have the snow removal equipment that states that get a lot of snow have.

In the past decade or so, a lot of the state and local O&M departments have purchased equipment that can convert heavy vehicles into snow removal or deicing vehicles.

13 Generac 22kw just sits out behind the garage, purring every Saturday morning for 15 minutes as it does its automatic maintenance run. longest run so far in past 6 years is about 72 hours, but as long as the natural gas flows, I can run everything in the house seamlessly.

15 ^ have had mine 6 years now.
Change plugs, air and oil filters, oil every September.
Top off the 1000 gal propane tank at summer prices.
UPS on TV and networks to cover the ATS lag.

Won't spin the heat pump.
Propane furnace and fireplace for that.

Longest run was 6 days.

16 Skid-I got the semi-annual maintenance plan from the dealer, along with the 7 year warranty. Like you, the 15 second lag before auto-start made battery power source for satellite TV and wifi-computer mandatory. Great sense of security it provides when you live on a small hilltop and get a 3 ft snowfall on un-plowed private access road.

Arrived here in Metro Atlanta this afternoon.
Panic buying at super mkts & Wally Worlds.
Not a parking space w/o a 200 yd walk in the rain.
Lines to tge 1/2 back in the store.
Gas prices up 40cents a gallon.
Bread shelves empty of white bread... etc etc etc..

18 Panic buying... I worked at a milk bottling plant and was amazed how people would always, always go buy extra milk. If a winter storm knocks your electricity out something perishable like milk should be the last thing you should fill your refrigerator with.
