1 So, if the US is "energy independent" why is the Iran War causing our gasoline prices to spike ?

2 It's all worth it to crush Iran.

You’re being sarcastic, but it is. Expansionist totalitarian fanatics cannot be allowed to hold the entire world hostage while they lob nuclear bombs at our cities, along with Jerusalem and Mecca as their first round targets.

The crushing should have been done in 2004, after Al Qaeda and the Taliban in Afghanistan and Saddam Hussein in Iraq, but the CIA teamed up with the mainstream media to stop that cold. Thank God Mossad was able to slow things down enough over there by sabotage and assassination that it’s not too late now to finish the job.

because oil is an international commodity

a similar thing would happen if, for example, the soybean crop in Brazil was damaged - The US exports lots and lots of soybeans (typically produces over 39% of world supply) but with a lower Brazilian production (Brazil grows about as much as the US), the international market prices it up. Or if one country decides to use lots more soybeans, this also sets off a price rise. Something like this happened in 2006 which was partly drought related but mostly because China decided to import more soybean oil.
