Mayor Brandon Johnson filed a lawsuit against gun company Glock Inc in July 2024.

The filing alleges that Glock knowingly makes and sells pistols that can be converted into illegal machine guns using a device known as a 'Glock switch.' A Cook County Circuit Court judge denied a motion to dismiss the case in September 2025.
