He said he was embarking on an “effective regime of medication, therapy, exercise and clean living,” concluding, “I’m not asking for sympathy, or a free pass, though I aspire to earn your forgiveness. I write today simply to ask for your patience and understanding as I find my way home.”

Ye’s normally active social media accounts, where he has shared antisemitic language and imagery in the past, were quiet Monday morning after the apology ad was published.

Ye has maintained an active performance schedule. This week, he is scheduled to play two high-profile concerts in Mexico City.

If he remains sincere beyond the moment, I would consider a first step toward making it right if he were to calculate all his profits from his antisemitic songs and products, then donate it all to a fund for the Israeli orphans of 10/7 — Jews and others alike — then follow up by taking the songs out of rotation and destroying the remaining merchandise. If it doesn’t hurt, it’s just lip service.

6 They are not the people he harmed, Super Hose. I don’t honestly care about making him a better man in general — after living half a century, he’ll either figure that out himself or he won’t; I want him to face the people whose lives he made more dangerous and start to fix the problem he created, and do so in front of that part of the world who believe his vicious words are true. If he is truly repentant, he’ll want to, much to the shock of the gullible and the idiots. If he is not truly repentant, I want to rub his nose in it.

Possibly I’m not really a very nice person at all.
