5 I listened to a podcast in which the astounding theory is propounded, first written in 1981, that comets contain the elements of life placed in cryogenic freeze by a long-dead galactic civilization and launched in every direction to seed life anywhere they landed, including Earth.
They did this to preserve their own DNA, the imperative for any life form. To avoid extinction, perhaps by a nearby supernova.
Unprovable but getting more plausible as we learn moreabout what comets contain. Graham Hancock on Lex Fridman, he's fascinating.
He takes all this conspiracy theory stuff about the Great Pyramids being aligned with the stars and the Sphinx being modeled after what the constellations looked like 10,000 years ago and made it make sense.
Archaeologists have barely looked anywhere on Earth where it was habitable during the Ice Age, the Sahara had rivers and forests.
Mind-blowing stuff, but we won't know for decades, and archaeologists themselves are frightened out of their wits at losing their jobs and prestige if t Graham is right.
