1 A few of the Moai, the oldest ones, were carved from Basalt. And you cant carve basalt with copper.

Huge mystery how they got there because...

Logistically, there's no basalt quarry on Easter Island and there are no mines in the entirety of Polynesia that can procure ore to manufacture copper, iron, or steel tools.

3 mossomo there is indeed a basalt quarry on Easter Island, specifically at Rano Raraku, where many of the island's iconic moai statues were carved.
