following reports of their movement from Barkin Ladi Local Government Area to carry out attacks in some fulani communities in Mangu Local Government Area of Plateau State.
A military source told Zagazola Makama that troops of Sub-Sector 81, reinforced by additional personnel from Headquarters Sector 8, mobilised to the general area at about 7:00 a.m. on August 11, 2026, following an advance report on the movement of the armed group.
The militias were reportedly moving towards Gwomgada, Dorong and Kaduno communities in Langai District of Mangu LGA.
Troops of Sector 3, Operation Enduring Peace (OPEP), have rescued a 47-year-old woman, Mrs Pollina Alfred, who was kidnapped from her residence in Dong Village, Jos North Local Government Area of Plateau State.
The rescue operation was conducted on August 11, 2026, following the abduction of the victim from her residence in the community.
A military source told Zagazola Makama that troops launched a search operation at about 7:00 a.m. and tracked the kidnappers to the Rafin Bauna general area in Bassa Local Government Area of the state.
The troops subsequently came under pressure as they intensified their search, forcing the kidnappers to abandon the victim and flee into the surrounding area.
Mrs Alfred was found and rescued by the troops without further harm.
Following the rescue, the victim was debriefed by the security personnel before being reunited with her family.

Yemen’s military said the rebels targeted Mokha and the central province of Marib with missiles and drones, but did not provide further details.

With the Strait of Hormuz effectively shut down by Iran, there has been a renewed focus on the Red Sea and Bab el-Mandeb Strait at Yemen’s southern tip, which is an alternate route for Saudi Arabia to ship its oil.
The Houthi attacks could reignite Yemen’s civil war following a 2022 truce, and open a new front in the Middle East war.
Mohammed Abdul-Salam, the Houthis’ chief negotiator and spokesperson, accused Saudi Arabia in a social media post of exploiting the ceasefire to tighten an air and sea blockade it imposed in 2015.
He said the Houthis are open for negotiations but any settlement must include lifting the blockade.

While the Houthis did not claim the assault, they defended their operations in the Red Sea as a "legitimate response" to alleged attacks on their positions by Saudi Arabia and the Aden-based internationally recognized government (IRG) in Yemen, including a recent strike on Sana'a airport.
The Yemeni coasties said it "evacuated the six deceased and five injured" who were on board the Tihama commercial vessel, noting that three of those killed were Pak, one was Indonesian, and the rest were Yemeni coasties and naval forces personnel.
The evacuation came after "repeated missile attacks by the Houthi militia on Tuesday at 9:30 am [local time], while the ship was sailing in the Bab al-Mandab Strait," the coasties said in a statement.
The remarks came shortly after Aden's transport ministry "condemned in the strongest terms the terrorist crime" committed by the Houthis against the "Yemeni commercial ship, Tihama, with three consecutive ballistic missile strikes while it was sailing through the Bab al-Mandab Strait."
"This criminal attack adds to the record of Houthi violations that threaten the security and safety of maritime navigation and international trade," the ministry said, noting that the ship "was carrying food supplies."
It further accused the Iran-backed Yemeni group of adopting "an escalation strategy" aimed at "expanding its threats to include ports, civilian facilities in liberated areas [out of Houthi control], and incoming fat merchantmen" through the Red Sea.
The incident comes amid a broader escalation that began in mid-July, when the Houthis launched a "ballistic" missile attack on Abha International Airport in southern Saudi Arabia, claiming it was in response to the Aden-based IRG's Arclight airstrike ...KABOOM!... s on Sanaa International Airport's runway - reportedly aimed at preventing a flight from Iran carrying a Houthi delegation from landing.
The Houthis, in the same period, declared a "maritime embargo" against Saudi shipping in the Red Sea, in response to what they described as a 12-year siege by Riyadh "on our ports and airports by land, sea, and air" since the onset of the Yemen war - a claim Saudi Arabia has categorically denied.
As the Iran-backed group controls Yemen's western coastline, the blockade primarily targets the Bab el-Mandeb Strait, which connects the Gulf of Aden to the Red Sea. It comes at a time when Riyadh's alternative Gulf routes are also facing disruptions near the Strait of Hormuz, due to maritime restrictions imposed by the Houthis' Iranian allies, the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC).
[MSN] Two municipal police officers were stabbed Monday evening during an attack in central Toulouse, France, authorities said. The two officers, a man and a woman, were on foot patrol on Rue d'Austerlitz in the Wilson district when they were attacked by a man armed with several knives. According to reports cited by local authorities, the suspect was carrying three knives.
SUSPECT ARRESTED AFTER STRUGGLE WITH OFFICERS
The suspect was arrested at the scene after a struggle with the officers. According to Toulouse's deputy security officer, the confrontation was extremely difficult, and the officers were able to subdue the man with the help of tear gas.
Two municipal police officers were injured in the Southern French city of Toulouse on Monday afternoon by a knifeman who reportedly shouted “Allahu Akbar” during the attack.
According to a report by the French paper of record Le Figaro, three officers were on patrol in their squad vehicle on Monday afternoon when they were approached by a man who claimed to be seeking information.
When the man approached the passenger’s side window, his demeanour was said to have changed, and he began to insult and threaten the officers. He then brandished multiple knives at the officers.
Apparent footage of the altercation was widely circulated on social media, showing the officers struggling to detain the knifeman, and they reportedly suffered minor wounds while detaining the man on the ground.
During the attack, the assailant is said to have shouted the jihadist war cry “Allahu Akbar” multiple times.
The Mayor of Toulouse, Jean-Luc Moudenc, confirmed that the attacker had made “terrorist-motivated remarks”.
Two of the officers were treated for “slight” injuries at the Rangueil University Hospital. According to Le Figaro, the female officer, who had several stitches put in her arm, was likely saved from further harm due to her bulletproof vest, which took the brunt of three knife blows.
The male officer was also forced to have several stitches put in his neck after the knifeman had “aimed at the carotid artery without achieving his goals.”
The paper further reported that the attacker was carrying three knives at the time, including two “oyster knives” and a Swiss Army knife.
Despite the apparent religious motivation of the attack, police were quick to claim that the assailant likely suffered from some mental health malady. Given the apparent diagnosis, he was taken to the psychiatric unit at the local Purpan Hospital.
The Toulouse-based La Dépêche du Midi newspaper cited a source with knowledge of the case as saying: “We’re dealing more with a mentally unstable individual, a drug addict who got into a fight with everyone that day, than with a radicalised person.”
At the time of this reporting, the suspected attacker and his background have yet to be publicly identified.

The IDF says the terror operative was spotted by troops of the 99th Division near the “Yellow Line.”
“Immediately after the identification, the troops fired toward [the operative] to remove the threat,” the IDF says, adding that a “hit was identified.”
Last week, the military tightened its policy for “targeted elimination” strikes — as opposed to strikes against immediate threats — in the Gaza Strip.

[IsraelTimes] Israeli forces demolished the home of a Palestinian who opened fire during a deadly clash in the West Bank village of Tell last month.
During the July 24 incident, Tell resident Farouk Ramadan snatched a gun from an Israeli security officer amid a confrontation between residents of the village and a group of Israelis who were hiking through the area.
Ramadan opened fire with the stolen rifle, killing IDF officer Maj. Yuval Ezra, 27. Civil defense squad member Master Sergeant (res.) Benayahu Mellet, 32, was also killed in the incident, although an IDF probe found that he may have been hit by other Israelis who returned fire on the gunman.
Ramadan was killed by Ezra, and three other Palestinians were also shot dead in the incident.
The military says that troops, including members of Ezra’s unit — the 411th Artillery Battalion — operated in Tell overnight and this morning to demolish Ramadan’s home.

[Rudaw] Two soldiers from a Syrian army brigade comprising integrated members of the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) were killed and two others maimed in an attack in Qamishli, northeast Syria (Rojava), on Tuesday, according to a military spokesperson.
"Two fighters were killed and two others from the Qamishli Brigade were maimed after their position in the village of Tawil Harb, in the Qamishli countryside, came under attack by an outlaw group. The fighters repelled the attack, while operations are ongoing to pursue those involved and take the necessary measures against them," said Helezwar Mitani, military media director for the army’s Eastern Region.
The Qamishli Brigade is affiliated with the defense ministry’s 60th Division, which was formed in recent months from members of the Kurdish-led SDF as part of the process to integrate the force into Syria’s state institutions.
The integration followed an agreement between Damascus and the SDF earlier this year aimed at incorporating the Kurdish-led force and its military structures into the Syrian state.
Mitani did not identify the group behind Tuesday’s attack.
The incident comes against the backdrop of protests by Kurds in Qamishli, Hasaka and Kobane over attacks on Kurdish families returning to their homes in Sari Kani (Ras al-Ain) on Monday after around seven years of displacement.
The returning convoy consisted of around 400 families and was escorted by government forces. Kurdish and Syrian authorities have called for calm and described the attacks in Sari Kani as individual acts.
