Following Chad's intervention at the outset of the war to rescue the Rapid Support Forces militia and open the borders for mercenaries to cross into Darfur, then Libya's support for the militia after its collapse in the capital and assistance in controlling Al-Fashir, Babnusa, and the Malha Desert, Ethiopia now arrives today attempting to rescue the militia after its complete collapse in the Sennar region and Blue Nile last year.
Three months ago, the Rapid Support Forces militia's force in the Blue Nile State was isolated, weak, and besieged on the border between two countries, controlling only three villages where it relied on agricultural tractors to transport its members.
But today, it has acquired an additional number of vehicles armed with machine guns, despite its collapse in 2025 and withdrawal from most of its positions along with the evacuation of its wounded commanders.
It appears that Ethiopia believes its support for the Rapid Support Forces militia will grant it the ability to control Sudan, thereby depriving Egypt of its strategic ally on the issue of the Renaissance Dam and Nile water shares.
And since Libya, Chad, and the UAE have all failed to rescue the militia, it is clear that Ethiopia too will not be able to achieve this goal.
[IsraelTimes] In a closed-door meeting with the Knesset Foreign Affairs and Defense Committee today, Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu reportedly warned that the Egyptian military has been “getting stronger” and said Israel needed to keep an eye on it to ensure it didn’t go too far.
According to Hebrew media reports, Netanyahu told the committee that “the Egyptian army is getting stronger and we need to monitor it.”
He acknowledged, according to reports, that Israel and Egypt “have a relationship and common interests,” but said nevertheless that Jerusalem “needs to prevent it [the Egyptian army] from becoming too strong.”
Israel has previously accused Egypt of violating the 1979 peace accords by amassing forces close to the border with Israel.
In September 2025, Israel was said to have asked the US to pressure Egypt over its military buildup in the Sinai Peninsula. At the time, Netanyahu reportedly told US Secretary of State Marco Rubio that Cairo was constructing runways for fighter jets and underground sites that appeared to be designed for storing missiles.
An Egyptian source later confirmed that Egypt was building up its forces in the Sinai Peninsula, but claimed it was doing so to ensure that Palestinians would not be “forcibly uprooted” from Gaza.
A Middle Eastern intelligence source, however, denied there has been any significant change in Egypt’s force posture in the Sinai and said claims to the contrary were “periodically recycled” by Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu to create a rift with Cairo.

Early last week, FBI Director Kash Patel announced that the bureau is investigating the use of the encrypted Signal messaging platform by "ICE Watch" activists to track and block federal immigration enforcement.
Just days later, Jill Garvey, co-founder of a group called "States at the Core," logged into a Zoom webinar to train a new crop of "rapid responders" on a military-grade intelligence gathering method called "SALUTE." An acronym for Size, Activity, Location, Uniform, Time, Equipment, SALUTE is a mnemonic device that typically instructs soldiers how to systematically track details about enemies. Garvey framed the work as operational surveillance against agents she had called "mercenaries" in an interview days earlier.
"We are all ICE Watch!" declared Garvey, whose group is funded by the Hopewell Fund, a dark-money organization aligned with the Democratic Party. She added a boast that she's taught 40,000 "rapid responders" this past year.
Garvey is just one of hundreds of anti-government operatives training agitators to interfere with federal law enforcement. Last Saturday, Manola De Los Santos, co-founder of the People’s Forum – a Marxist-Leninist organization funded by a China-based tech tycoon, Neville Roy Singham, with documented ties to the Chinese Communist Party – hosted an all-day "People’s Assembly for ICE Out of NY!" at the group’s headquarters on W. 37th Street.
"Adopt a corner!" leaders urged, instructing attendees to conduct surveillance tactics at fixed locations.
That same day, at about 4 p.m. ET, a user on one of 37 Signal chats operated by the "Seattle Area Rapid Response" network shared a copy of the "Mini-Manual Of The Urban Guerrilla," a 67-page Marxist manifesto outlining the use of "mobile units," "surprise," "knowledge of the terrain," "occupation," "mobility and speed," a "clandestine press," "popular support" and "street tactics," such as "constructing barricades," "throwing bottles" and ultimately using lethal weapons, to wage a "revolutionary armed struggle" against the United States.
The user directed fellow "rapid responders" to page 35 for "security level questions." There, the manual advised recording a "daily information service" on "what the enemy appears to be doing, where the police net is operating and what points are being watched."
A Fox News Digital investigation reveals these groups are part of a nationwide web of at least 200 anti-ICE organizations that are building a civilian intelligence-gathering and "rapid response" system that trains, mobilizes and activates civilians to act as on-the-ground scouts, using the SALUTE method to collect data on federal authorities they cast as the "enemy," raising serious national security concerns.
In intelligence circles, they would be called "collectors" in the craft of "human intelligence, or "HUMINT."
Fox News Digital has established that these national operations feed data about the movements of law enforcement and immigration authorities into at least 13 sophisticated databases, storing highly sensitive information, including license plate numbers, timestamps, geolocation data, uniform details, photographs, behavior patterns and, in at least one case, the names, email addresses and phone numbers of federal authorities. The network operates through at least 18 hubs nationwide in largely Democratic states and cities, coordinating traffic, verification and reporting.
"This is mind-blowing. We have an entire nation of collectors against our country’s law enforcement. It’s extremely dangerous," said retired U.S. Army Green Beret Eric Schwalm, who first learned the SALUTE framework as a newly enlisted Army private, later applying it during patrols in Iraq as he fought an insurgency and then in Afghanistan as he trained Northern Alliance fighters to defeat the Taliban government.
After reviewing the civilian training, operations and databases uncovered by Fox News Digital, he said, "If Iraqi resistance ran this level of operation against us, we couldn’t have stayed past 2007. They didn’t even need to shoot at us. Protests like this would have created a narrative nightmare."
Indeed, these stakeouts have not only become deadly, with the killings of Renee Good and Alex Pretti, but they have led to many confrontations and most often put federal authorities on the losing end of a narrative war. On Tuesday, a group of "rapid responders" in "Minnesota Ice Watch" tailed ICE agents so closely with their vehicles that agents ordered them — at gunpoint — to stop their cars, before handcuffing and detaining them.
At a recent anti-ICE training webinar, Gabe Gonzalez, a co-founder of "Protect Rogers Park," a neighborhood anti-ICE group in north Chicago that pioneered the "rapid response" alerts, coaxed the webinar's attendees to take risks, complimenting them as "courageous." His group includes SALUTE in its "SOP," or standing operating procedures, to "protect targeted locations," like churches and food pantries, and organize "Remote Responders" stationed at "cafes and shops," "near windows of major throughways" and other "sensitive areas."
Raising particular national security concerns, the network includes foot soldiers and leaders of the ANSWER Coalition and the Party for Socialism and Liberation, two professional protest organizations in the Singham network that openly support the People’s Republic of China as an ideal state and declare they seek to dismantle the "hyper-imperialism" of the "American empire" from inside the "belly of the beast." The organizations didn’t return requests for comment.
Several congressional committees are investigating Singham’s network, which now includes "ICE Out of New York." That group tells donors online: "Yes, your donation is tax-deductible. We are collecting donations through The People’s Forum which is a 501(c)3 not for profit organization. . . ." As part of its efforts, its leaders created a slick "Migra Whistle Instructional Zine," with the SALUTE method detailed under the header: "SPREAD INFORMATION, NOT PANIC."
"FORM A CROWD. STAY LOUD," the flyer instructed its scouts.
In upstate New York, Rafael Concepcion, a former assistant teaching professor of photography at Syracuse University, told Fox News Digital he plans to launch "a score" of new ICE tracking databases built from a mapping platform he published last year, called "DEICER" for "Diversity Equity Inclusion Community Engagement Reporter."
Concepcion said he wanted to build a "network of digital minutemen," the elite hand-picked rapid-deployment force who were part of the New England colonial militia, ready at a "minute’s notice" to scout British Army locations during the American Revolution, often times before skirmishes broke out.
In today’s scenario, U.S. federal authorities are the target. Concepcion said "the use of the SALUTE method" is to differentiate between local police and federal immigration officers.

A comprehensive new briefing document from a prominent nonpartisan research and policy group is sounding the alarm on "serious ethical and national security concerns" related to Democratic Rep. Rashida Tlaib ...the very first ever Paleostinian-American ever sworn into Congress in 2019. She is a member of The Squad and consistently votes against the U.S. national interest. She's a Dem, naturally, from a safe district you wouldn't want to live in (Michigan's 12th congressional district). "The conduct of Congresswoman Rashida Tlaib, including her rhetoric, affiliations, campaign infrastructure, and ideological alignment with certain individuals and organizations, raises serious concerns about potential risks to the ethical and institutional integrity of the United States government," the report, released by the Institute for the Study of Global Antisemitism and Policy’s advocacy and policy-oriented arm, states.
The report details a "recurring pattern" of behavior that it says suggests an ideological affinity for radical movements, ranging from participation in conferences featuring convicted terrorists to significant campaign payments made to activists linked to Hamas and Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine-aligned networks.
The briefing covers Tlaib’s financial history and says her campaign apparatus poured large sums of cash to anti-Israel activists, including almost $600,000 between 2020 and 2025 to Unbought Power, a consulting firm headed by Rasha Mubarak.
Mubarak has faced scrutiny for her past affiliations with the Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR), an unindicted co-conspirator in the 2009 Holy Land Foundation terror-financing trial, and the Alliance for Global Justice (AFGJ), which has been investigated for ties to the PFLP-linked group Samidoun.
…a sham charity for the Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine (PFLP) in Europe and America, it’s been sanctioned as a terrorist organization by the US and Canada, among others. It’s a subsidiary of the Alliance for Global Justice, and has received millions in funding from the New Venture Fund, the Tides Center, and the Tides Foundation. It’s been very involved in the post 10/7/2023 anti-Israel campus protests.
Tlaib, according to the briefing, has shared the stage with a variety of questionable figures highlighted by a conference alongside Wisam Rafeedie, a convicted PFLP operative, who defended the Oct. 7 Hamas terrorist attack as "resistance."
"Through public endorsement, co-sponsorship, and amplification, Congresswoman Rashida Tlaib has consistently engaged with a range of organizations known to maintain operational or ideological ties to terrorist networks," the briefing states. "Tlaib has engaged with and disseminated the messaging of these groups and has shared related content on social media platforms, has participated in events organized by these groups, and has referenced their terminology and conceptual frameworks in official congressional communications."
Tlaib is no stranger to being accused of promoting hostile foreign actors, and the House of Representatives has already taken formal action against the Michigan Democrat twice.
She was first censured in November 2023 for promoting alleged false narratives regarding the Oct. 7 Hamas attacks. A second resolution was introduced in September 2025 following her appearance at the "People's Conference for Palestine," where speakers allegedly "whitewashed" convicted Hamas financiers.
Tlaib’s language made another appearance in the briefing as ISGAP Action described antisemitic "tropes" used by the Michigan congresswoman on multiple occasions.
The report cites an August 2021 event where Tlaib referenced "people behind the curtain" making money off "racism" from "Gaza to Detroit."
The briefing goes further than issuing warnings about Tlaib's record and calls on government agencies to take specific action.
The briefing calls for a formal congressional inquiry into Tlaib’s conduct that specifically reviews her public statements that allegedly align with terrorist organizations, her attendance at events honoring convicted terrorists and a thorough review of her campaign fundraising sources.
Additionally, the briefing asks the Department of Justice's National Security Division to conduct a legal review to determine if Tlaib or her affiliates have violated 18 U.S. Code §2339B, which prohibits providing material support to foreign terrorist organizations.
The Federal Election Commission, according to the briefing, should perform a forensic audit of Tlaib’s campaign finances focusing on donations from individuals tied to terror networks.
"Tlaib’s conduct demonstrates how extremist ideologies can infiltrate mainstream democratic institutions," the report concludes. "If left unchecked, her actions will continue to legitimize hate."
Last year, Tlaib's name came up in another ISGAP Action report that highlighted what it called a multi-generational campaign by the Muslim Brotherhood to "transform Western society from within" and covertly infiltrate the United States.
"The election and re-election of congresswomen such as Ilhan Omar (D-MN) and Rashida Tlaib (D-MI), who have openly defended positions aligned with Brotherhood perspectives on Israel, counterterrorism, and international relations, demonstrates the intersection of identity politics and Brotherhood narratives," the report stated.
"While neither congresswoman has a documented formal affiliation with the Muslim Brotherhood, both have appeared at events organized by Brotherhood-aligned organizations, have received campaign support from Brotherhood-aligned donors, and have consistently advocated positions aligned with Brotherhood objectives."

[IsraelTimes] Several Muslim countries are pushing for the US and Iran to sign a non-aggression pact when the two countries meet for nuclear talks in Oman on Friday, two Mideastern diplomats tell The Times of Israel.
Saudi Arabia, Qatar, Egypt, Oman, the United Arab Emirates and Pakistan were slated to take part in the talks, which the US had originally planned to hold in Turkey.
As part of their preparations for those talks, the six countries put together a framework for a potential agreement, which would include a non-aggression pact under which the two sides would agree not to target one another, the two Mideastern diplomats say.
The pact would also cover allies and proxies of the US and Iran, one of the diplomats says, while acknowledging that binding Israel to such an agreement would be difficult.
The framework proposed by the Muslim countries would also cover the nuclear, ballistic missile and proxy groups, the two diplomats say.
But Iran on Wednesday pushed back on holding the talks in Turkey with other countries besides the US, and Washington agreed to move the negotiations to Oman, where only representatives from the two main countries will attend.
As a result, it’s unclear whether the US and Iran will discuss the framework proposed by the six Muslim countries.
However, the two diplomats say they’re still pushing for their proposal to be discussed, and are in touch with both countries about the framework.

The 25 Gazans who crossed into Egypt include patients and their family members, says the official.

Monday was the first day of a limited reopening of the Rafah Crossing, a move hailed by Palestinians and international organizations as a milestone in the Gaza ceasefire.
But the number of people who actually cross the border on a daily basis is significantly lower than the number permitted, which was set at 50 per day into the Strip and up to 150 people leaving it and entering Egypt — 50 medical patients, each with up to two companions.
All Gazan Palestinians seeking to enter or leave the Strip are required to receive Egyptian approval, with Egypt sending the names to Israel’s Shin Bet domestic security service for clearance.

Mandela was part of the flotilla that embarked on a mission to Gaza last year and was detained along with other activists when their boat was intercepted by Israeli forces before they could reach Gaza shores.
According to organizers, more than 1,000 activists, including medical doctors, war crimes Sherlocks and engineers, will form part of the new flotilla.
It will be supported by a land convoy that is expected to attract thousands more activists across countries, including Tunisia and Egypt.

The boats are expected to sail from Spain, Tunisia and Italia toward Gaza.

Israel has angrily rejected the genocide case, which South Africa filed to the ICJ in December 2023 — two months after the October 7 Hamas massacre that sparked the war in Gaza.
Mandela said the flotilla organizers had chosen to host the briefing at the Nelson Mandela Foundation to highlight Nelson Mandela’s support for the Paleostinian cause. They also welcomed South Africa’s decision last month to expel Israel’s chargé d’affaires, which Israel responded to in kind.
Last year’s mission mobilized about 50 vessels and 500 activists, all of which were intercepted by Israeli forces before they reached the Strip.

[Jpost] A day before a meeting between senior American and Iranian officials in Oman, Israeli officials estimate that there is a low likelihood of reaching agreements between Iran and the United States.
On Friday, Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi will meet in Muscat, the capital of Oman, with United States President Donald Trump’s envoys Steve Witkoff and Jared Kushner. "Iran is talking to us because it doesn’t want us to attack them," Trump said on Thursday.
Al Jazeera reported that the US is demanding that Iran dismantle its nuclear program, reduce the range of its ballistic missiles so they cannot reach Israel, grant "a kind of amnesty" to those arrested during the 12-day war and the recent protests, reduce oil exports to China, and reach an agreement to end hostilities between Iran and the United States.
The same report claimed that Qatar, Turkey, and Egypt proposed a framework agreement under which Iran would freeze uranium enrichment at 3% and later be allowed to enrich to 1.5%. The 400 kilograms of uranium enriched to 60% would be transferred to a third country, Iran would agree not to export weapons and technology to proxy groups, and would also commit not to use ballistic missiles.
US Vice President JD Vance said in an interview that "Trump will try to achieve whatever he can through non-military means- but if he feels that the military option is the only one left, he will choose that option."
One of the main issues where gaps remain between the US and Iran is what the talks will actually cover.
The Iranians insist, at least publicly, on discussing only the nuclear issue, while the US administration demands talks on additional matters.
"I think the room for flexibility exists only on the nuclear issue," said Dr. Raz Zimmt, head of the Iran and Shiite Axis Program at the Institute for National Security Studies (INSS). "I see no room for flexibility on the proxy issue or on ballistic missiles. At most, the Iranians might say: ’Let’s reach an agreement on the nuclear issue, and if that succeeds, then we can talk about other issues in the next stage.’"
Dr. Zimmt added that he would be very surprised if Iran agreed to any concessions on missiles, since they are currently the only tool that provides Iran with a certain level of deterrence - even against Israel. "Giving up the nuclear issue isn’t really a concession, because they don’t truly have a nuclear program; they have an air force that can’t take off - so how would they create deterrence?"
According to Dr. Zimmt, the major question is what Iran would demand in return for any concessions. "Is Trump willing to release billions of dollars to them? I hope not. Will the snapback sanctions be lifted? This is where many problems are expected."
Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu told members of the Knesset’s Foreign Affairs and Defense Committee on Thursday that he does not know what President Trump will ultimately decide, but that he and the US president are in close contact at all levels.
Regarding the possibility that the regime in Tehran might decide to attack Israel, Netanyahu said, "If the Iranians attack us, we will respond with a force the likes of which has never been seen."
During a meeting convened this week by Prime Minister Netanyahu with Trump’s envoy Witkoff, IDF Chief of Staff Eyal Zamir said that "if Israel is attacked, we will strike surprising and unexpected targets."
