[Daily Mail, where America gets its news] Somali refugees in Minnesota have committed the 'biggest theft of taxpayer dollars in US history' and local Democratic officials were 'fully complicit' in the scheme, White House officials declared Friday night.
Federal authorities announced this week that at least 86 people - mostly within small Somali communities in the state - have stolen more than $1 billion in public funds from programs meant to feed children, assist the homeless and provide autism therapy.
The suspects allegedly ran companies that billed Minnesota state officials for millions of dollars in social services that were never actually rendered in three separate fraud schemes.
It has since been revealed that Representative Ilhan Omar and Minnesota Governor Tim Walz had connections with at least some of the Somali refugees charged in the massive scheme.
They were both pictured with Abdul Dahir Ibrahi, who was taken into Immigration and Customs Enforcement custody on Friday.
He had previously been convicted in Canada of asylum and welfare fraud, Fox News reports.
Now, US Homeland Security Advisor Stephen Miller said authorities 'believe the state government is fully complicit in this scheme, and we believe that what we uncover is going to shock the American people.'
He added that the evidence federal prosecutors have already collected show that 'the Somali fraud operation in Minnesota is the single greatest theft of taxpayer dollars through welfare fraud in American history.'
'We believe that we've only scratched the very top of the surface of how deep this goes,' Miller told Fox News' Sean Hannity Friday night, as the Trump administration probes whether the millions of dollars that were fraudulently obtained were funneled to terrorist organizations, including Somalia-based Al-Shabaab.
'The total tab for this is going to be far beyond the numbers we've already seen reported,' which show that 75 percent of the Somali population in Minnesota is on welfare.
'That's likely a significant undercount of just how much of a financial burden the Somali refugee population is imposing on this country,' Miller noted.
After the massive scandal came to light, President Trump announced he was ending Temporary Protected Status for Somalis - which led to Ibrahim's arrest on Friday.
Authorities have said he entered the United States through the Canadian border in 1995.
His remarks came as Immigration and Customs Enforcement took Somali refugee Abdul Dahir Ibrahim into custody.
Seven years later, Ibrahim was arrested for providing false information to police and driving without a valid license, a crime for which he was fined and sentenced to one year of probation.
In the years since, Ibrahim - who was also once pictured with former Minneapolis mayoral candidate Omar Fateh - has accumulated a dozen traffic or parking tickets as he repeatedly applied for asylum.
In one his applications, the fraudster claimed his sister and her five children to be his spouse and his own kids.
But a judge cited Ibrahim's 'complete lack of credibility' in rejecting the petition, according to the New York Post.
Ibrahim also reportedly had deportation orders against him since 2004, but was still granted temporary protected status - which provided him with deportation protections for 10 years.
In announcing his arrest on Friday, the Department of Homeland Security noted that Ibrahim 'has been linked to Minnesota’s top sanctuary politicians.'
'Bye-bye, Abdul.'
But Ibrahim is not the only alleged fraudster Omar is said to have connections with, as authorities were able to secure a conviction against 33-year-old Salim Ahmed Said, the owner of Safari Restaurant, where the woke congresswoman held her 2018 victory party.
Prosecutors have said Said pocketed $5 million by claiming to serve tens of thousands of meals to low-income children during the pandemic through the nonprofit Feeding Our Future.
Most of those meals never actually existed, authorities say, and the Safari restaurant allegedly received more than $16 million in funds in 'phantom meals.'
Said then used the money to enrich himself, with a $2 million mansion in Minneapolis and a $9,000-a-month shopping habit at Nordstrom, prosecutors claim.
Additionally, Omar campaign staffer Guhaad Hashi Said claimed he served 5,000 meals every day under fake food site Advance Youth Athletic Development, but was taking millions into his own coffers. He pleaded guilty to his fraud in August 2025.
He worked on Omar's 2018 and 2020 campaign as an 'enforcer' overseeing an aggressive voter mobilization strategy in the Somali community in Minneapolis.
Guhaad Said and Omar often attended the same events, according to Facebook photos of the pair together, including smiling selfies.
Some who donated to Omar's campaign even received fraudulent money from the food charity scam. The congresswoman received $7,400 in donations from now-convicted fraudsters.
When the scandal broke in 2022, she returned those contributions.
The restaurant owner is now facing decades in prison, as questions swirl about Omar's involvement.
She has maintained she was completely unaware of the illegal activity and is not accused of any wrongdoing, even though she introduced the 2020 MEALS Act bill that made the $250 million fraud scheme.
Meanwhile, Walz has defended what has gone on by saying his administration erred on the side of generosity during the pandemic and prioritized getting money out to people as quickly as possible.
'The programs are set up to move the money to people,' Walz told The Times. 'The programs are set up to improve people's lives, and in many cases, the criminals find the loopholes.'
Walz, who is seeking a third term as governor next year, has created a new task force to diagnose and root out fraud. He also plans to use AI tools to more easily find suspicious transactions at the governmental level.
'The message here in Minnesota,' Walz said, 'is if you commit a crime, if you commit fraud against public dollars, you are going to go to prison.'
Still, President Donald Trump has derided Walz for allowing Minnesota to become 'a hub of fraudulent money laundering activity.'
He said the perpetrators should be 'sent back to where they came from.'
Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem also hit out at the governor at a Cabinet meeting on Tuesday.
'You told me to look into Minnesota and their fraud on visas and their programs,' she told Trump, before declaring that half 'are fraudulent, which means that that wacko Governor Walz either is an idiot or he did it on purpose — and I think he's both.'
Critics of the one-time vice presidential candidate have argued that a key reason the fraud wasn't stopped was due to a reluctance from civil servants to go after the criminals due to their race, and being fearful of alienating the Somali community, according to the New York Times.
In 2020, Minnesota Department of Education officials were drowning in a flood of applications for new pandemic feeding sites.
As the number of providers exploded and invoices skyrocketed, staff started questioning the authenticity of invoices for meals that supposedly went to tens of thousands of children.
Feeding Our Future, the largest nonprofit participating in the program, warned that if the state didn’t fast-track approvals for 'minority-owned businesses,' it would face a lawsuit accusing officials of racism.
The state wound up backing down, but Feeding Our Future filed suit anyway, and despite mounting red flags, the agency kept approving feeding sites and reimbursing claims for months afterward.
The Daily Mail has reached out to Walz's office for comment. A spokesperson for Omar's office declined to comment.

Walz is done politically. The retard label is probably more damning than the obvious corruption. You see corrupt candidates get elected every cycle. Trump labeled Walz in an inappropriate way for his buffoonery. Walz could have leveraged that mistake by Trump, but instead beclowned himself confirming Trump’s diagnosis and shaming anyone who votes for him going forward. There is no political recovery for him at this point.
Al Shabab lost a significant revenue stream.
Ellison has been pretty much covered in Teflon previously. He took damage that is not repairable. He is not a serious presidential candidate going forward. I don’t know enough about Minnesota politics to speculate about his governor or senate prospects.
Minnesota used to be very populist but seems more like Chicago currently.i don’t see him going to jail, but it could happen and Walz could go to jail based on what evidence turns up. The charges would be in Federal Court in Minnesota. You kind of sssume corruption but those judges don’t seem to be the ones issuing nationwide injunctions.
Many Somali NPCs are going to jail.there will also be deportations. It will also be politically viable to explore Omar’s naturalization shenanigans. I don’t know that she loses her seat or gets deported. I don’t know that she doesn’t. It’s possible that she does. She’s eligible for full retirement. This scandal has reclassified Omar into a political liability.
Political funding in Minnesota had also fundamentally changed. Before the Somalis were flush with stolen Fed cash. They were power players. Now they are a significant voting block possible to break by leveraging clan strife. That is a significantly diminished position.
Finally, all the camouflage covering the NGO mechanism has been removed for at least the entirety of the MAGA base. Many of us have seen the man behind the curtain for a long time. NGOs are exposed. That’s not victory? But neither was Omaha Beach or Guadalcanal. Both battles were significant. This is significant.

They can say this is the biggest theft of taxpayer dollars in American HISTORY but I'm not so sure. Remember the mortgage meltdown of 2008? Remember W's Treasury Secretary asking for $700 billion (with a B) to bail out his high rolling buddies? Too big to fail? Big enough to get away with the biggest heist in history is more like it.
And then there's California's Gov. Newsom with the billions of dollars squanderedstolen for bogus homeless programs and the high speed train to nowhere.
Walz is a dumbass and most likely crooked as hell but he's a piker compared to Newsom.

Do you have any idea what tapestry of corruption and crime is attached to the little thread of the J6 / DNC / RNC pipe bomber suspect arrested yesterday by the FBI? Consider this: suspect Brian Cole, Jr., is alive and probably talking, unlike, say, Jeffrey Epstein and Thomas Matthew Crooks in other matters of public interest. Let’s hope he is under FBI protection in custody, lest something. . . say. . . happen to him.
As of early this morning, the country knows next to nothing else about Cole and what he was up to the night of Jan. 5, 2021. The FBI has not even said how he is employed.
Since then Mr. Cole was revealed to be employed by his father’s bail bond companies, which specialize in engineering the release of illegal aliens. Like their clients, Papa Cole’s business practices have fallen often enough on the wrong side of the law to be considered a basic principle
But his photo shows a young man dressed for office work. . . he lives in a nice house in the DC suburbs of Virginia. . .
…it is a nice house, and belongs to his mother, with whom he and his little Chihuahua live...
and you might infer that he is, possibly, a federal government worker.
Wonder, indeed. But the question was quickly answered.
Oh, and the FBI was unable to catch him through the whole four years of “Joe Biden?”

This is a breach of the ring wall not the citadel. I do want to hear an explanation of why a liberal anti-Trump kid unsuccessfully pipe-bombs the DNC on J6. The media will be stretching like Gumby to explain this one.
The indictment will be more sanitized than a Walmart checkout person’s hands during Covid. They will compartmentalize like they did Ghislaine Maxwell. No other’s charged. Lone bomber, no other accomplices, nothing to see here, move along.
This fact will remain: liberal kid bombs the DNC on J6.

For me the good news is that it seems an actual, serious siege is underway, and the ringwall is a small but genuine first success. The USAUD/NGO/Foreign Aid cutoffs are the necessary starvation steps to isolate the besieged garrison, and the endless hoax attacks in the media are the employment by onangers and castle catapults to trip and damage the seige engines. Every whistle-blower may hold the key to a postern door leading to a major breach.
The key is that the deep state feels genuinely besieged and acts fearfully, ensuring defections and mistakes.

I have heard that Cole is ANTIFA, but I have not heard that from any news outlet. I would be interested in seeing Chris Wray subpoenaed by Congress for a grilling just in general principles. He would plead the 5th or not show, but he could no longer use the ongoing investigation card, his favorite, because he is out of government.

Brian Cole Jr., 30, was arrested by FBI officials at his family home in Northern Virginia on Thursday before confessing to placing the devices, which did not explode, outside the Republican and Democrat national party headquarters near the U.S. Capitol on January 5, 2021, sources told MS NOW.
The two people familiar with Cole Jr.’s FBI interview also told the outlet that the suspect said he was a Trump supporter who thought he had actually beat then-President-elect Joe Biden, though his social media posts appearing to “express anarchist leanings” have made determining a motive complicated for investigators, the outlet reported.
The 30-year-old Virginia man accused of planting pipe bombs near Capitol Hill on the eve of the January 6, 2021 riots is an autistic recluse and ‘computer nerd’ who has no party affiliation, his grandmother told the Daily Mail on Friday.
Brian Cole confessed and told his FBI interrogators that he is a Trump supporter and holds anarchist views, MSNOW reported citing unnamed sources.
But Loretta, his grandmother, said Cole has no party affiliation and never votes.
Rather, he keeps to himself, living in his mother’s basement in Woodbridge, Virginia, where he’s been grieving the loss of his beloved pet chihuahua, while working a data entry job for his family’s bail bonds business.
‘He’s not politically affiliated with anything,’ the grandmother told the Daily Mail during an interview at her home in Gainesville, Virginia. 'He has no social media contacts. He’s never online going back and forth with politics or anything like that. He says he don’t like either party.
'He’s borderline autistic,’ she added. 'He’s slow. He may be 30, but he’s got the mind of a 16-year-old. That’s why we’re thinking - What the hell? What’s going on?’
She said FBI agents swooped in to search her office on the southern outskirts of Washington, D.C. on Thursday, the same day they arrested her grandson.
She said her son Brian Cole Sr. had a message passed to her son at his arraignment Friday.
‘We were told that the main thing he’s very upset about is that he disappointed us, that he got locked up,’ the grandmother told the Daily Mail. 'We told him we’re out here, we’re going to make sure thing’s taken care of.

TW, I saw the same coverage. It reminds me of the media releases of the Trump and Kirk shooters. I think that they will discover that Cole is a member of some type of community. I can’t see someone with no political affiliations deciding to pipe bomb the headquarters of two political parties in DC during planned J6 protests … and then he went back to playing MineCraft. It just didn’t happen. I’m also pretty sure that Mom wouldn’t know what her son was up to online in the basement. If the reality is inconvenient, they might try the lone actor stuff, but the made up story would need to make rational sense.
