The location of the strike was geo-located to a group of buildings right next to an airstrip; a militarily logistically significant location; lending support to the Army’s version. Today the Army released drone strike footage that practically confirms the Army’s version of event; it shows men stood in military drill formation before being struck by a drone missile.
[IsraelTimes] Denmark’s government has unveiled a new plan to combat rising antisemitism, pledging 120 million Danish kroner ($18.7 million) through 2030 to boost security, education and research.
The new measures will increase security funding for Jewish institutions, strengthen efforts against online hate and introduce new programs for children and young people, the country’s Justice Ministry says. A coordinator on antisemitism will be appointed for schools, and a new association will be created to combat antisemitic hate crimes. The initiatives build on earlier cross-party agreements that expire at the end of the year.
The plan follows a sharp increase in antisemitic incidents in Denmark since the Hamas-led October 7, 2023, attack on Israel and the ensuing war in Gaza.
Reports from the Denmark Jewish Community’s Department for Mapping and Registering Anti-Semitic Incidents show that the country saw 207 antisemitic incidents in 2024, up from 121 the previous year and just nine in 2022. Police have registered more than 500 hate crime reports linked to the search key “Judaism” since late 2023.
“Jews in Denmark should neither feel persecuted nor harassed,” Justice Minister Peter Hummelgaard says, calling for “tough and firm consequences” for those spreading hate. Foreign Minister Lars Løkke Rasmussen says antisemitism “is an attack on the values on which our society is built.”

It's always easy to spot those who have never read the Holy Bible because the story is right there. If you don't think it's the Word of God then refer to to Roman records where the event was recorded.
They also don't know that those who support Israel are blessed, also stated plainly in the Bible.

I’m not sure the Romans have a record of Jesus’ trial and crucifixion, but they certainly have records of his followers a generation or so later, because unlike Judaism, Christianity was not godfathered as an ancient faith getting a pass on making formal sacrifice to the national pantheon — that’s why until Constantine Christians were regularly sent to the wild animals in the colosseums as punishment. The Jews were permitted to skip that because of their odd insistence on monotheism, but they substituted a daily synagogue prayer for the health and wisdom of the emperor and Rome, and the priests made a daily sacrifice for both to God in the Temple in Jerusalem.
[IsraelTimes] US Ambassador to Turkey Tom Barrack tells a conference in Abu Dhabi that Washington wants Ankara to be involved in the international stabilization force envisioned for the Gaza Strip.
He posits that, if included, Turkey could succeed at nonviolently disarming Hamas, due to its ties with the terror group. Still, he says he doesn’t think Israel will agree to let Turkey participate.
“If I were personally advising [Prime Minister Benjamin] Netanyahu, I’d say that’s one of the most brilliant things he could do,” Barrack says, according to Bloomberg. “Do I think it’s going to happen? No. It’s trust and I don’t think that trust exists.”
Barrack also repeats his concern about escalation between Israel and Hezbollah, one year after a US-brokered ceasefire went into effect, which called on both the terror group and Israel to withdraw from southern Lebanon, which has nevertheless seen near-daily Israeli airstrikes against Hezbollah operatives.
“My personal opinion is: you kill one terrorist, you create 10,” he says of Israeli military actions. “That can’t be the answer. There has to be another answer.”
Barrack urges direct talks between Israel and Lebanon, saying it’s “time to march to Tel Aviv and Jerusalem, sit down and have a discussion,” declaring: “It’s time to end this.”
The American ambassador also says he expects Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan to get soon rid of Russian defense equipment whose purchase precluded Ankara from participating in the US’s F-35 stealth jet development program.
“My belief is that those issues will be resolved in the next upcoming four to six months,” Barrack says, according to the news site. Asked if Turkey is closer to getting rid of the system, he says “yes.”
He notes the “bromance” between Erdogan and US President Donald Trump.

Last night, IDF Chief of Staff Lt. Gen. Eyal Zamir announced a round of senior appointments in the military. Among the list was Giltman, who retired from the IDF in 2022 and was set to be promoted to brigadier general and return to the military to serve in a senior role in the Ground Forces.

[IsraelTimes] Ghassan al-Dahini, a deputy of Yasser Abu Shabab, has taken over the slain Gazan tribal leader’s eponymous Israeli-backed militia, says the group, which goes by “the Popular Forces.”
The Abu Shabab group, which operates in an IDF-controlled area of southern Gaza, posts a video on a Facebook page affiliated with it showing Dahini in military fatigues inspecting a formation of troops in gear.
The group also posts a video of troops praying in memory of Abu Shabab, with a caption calling for recruits to join the group while vowing to keep fighting “until you’re freed from Hamas.”
Abu Shabab was killed Thursday as the result of what Israeli defense officials said was an “internal clash.”
Without claiming responsibility for the killing, the Hamas-controlled Gaza Interior Ministry threatens that Palestinians who work with Israel will meet a similar fate to Abu Shabab, urging “traitors” to turn themselves over to the terror group’s security apparatus.
“We call on collaborators… to turn themselves over immediately, before it’s too late,” the Hamas ministry says in a statement, adding that this would help “alleviate” legal procedures against them.
Meanwhile, Gaza’s Palestinian Tribal Committee reiterates its support for Hamas’s crackdown on accused collaborators and commends the ministry for “opening the door of repentance.”
The committee, which comprises representatives of several Gaza clans, says Abu Shabab militia acts as “the guard dogs and mercenaries of the occupation.” It praises the Tarabin clan, from which Abu Shabab hailed, for taking the “national position” and disowning him.
As it reasserts itself on its side of the Gaza ceasefire line, Hamas has killed dozens of people it accuses of collaborating with Israel, residents have told The Times of Israel. While Hamas does not announce these actions on its official social media accounts, Telegram accounts linked to it published several videos of violence against Gaza residents — including public executions, shots to the legs and beatings with stone blocks — in ostensible punishment for alleged crimes including stealing aid, using drugs and collaborating with Israel.
New Abu Shabab militia head says he’s not scared of Hamas, vows to intensify fighting
[IsraelTimes] Ghassan al-Dahini, the newly appointed head of the Israeli-backed “Popular Forces” militia in southern Gaza, tells Channel 12 in an interview that he will continue to strengthen the group’s campaign against Hamas following the killing of its previous leader, Yasser Abu Shabab.
Al-Dahini, 39, hails from the Bedouin al-Tarabin tribe — the same tribe as Abu Shabab — and previously commanded the militia’s armed wing under him. Before joining the group, he served as an officer in the Palestinian Authority’s security apparatus until Hamas’s 2007 takeover of Gaza, according to Channel 12.

Yesterday, the militia published a show-of-force video on a Facebook page affiliated with it, showing al-Dahini in military fatigues inspecting a formation of fighters. Another video showed troops praying in memory of Abu Shabab alongside a call for new recruits to join the fight “until you’re freed from Hamas.”
He says yesterday’s videos were intended to demonstrate that the militia “continues to operate” despite the loss of its commander.
“His absence is painful, but it does not stop the fight against terror,” he says.
Al-Dahini also outlines plans to establish a demilitarized zone in the area under the militia’s control, which he says would serve as a safe zone for civilians who “believe in peace.”

"With U.S. government assistance, Spain repatriated one woman and one child from the Roj displaced persons camp in northeast Syria on Tuesday, November 25," the U.S. Department of State said in a statement.
The State Department noted that around 11,600 individuals from more than 70 non-Syrian countries remain in the al-Hol and Roj camps, the majority of them children under 12. Of this total, approximately 3,700 are nationals of over 30 European countries.
Most camp residents were captured by the SDF and the U.S.-led global coalition during the military campaign that brought about ISIS’s territorial defeat in 2019.
"The only durable solution to the humanitarian and security challenges in northeast Syria is for countries of origin to repatriate, rehabilitate, reintegrate, and, where appropriate, hold their nationals accountable for past acts," the statement added.
The US emphasized that repatriating foreign nationals from camps under Kurdish administration helps reduce the risk of an ISIS resurgence and contributes to a more stable future for Syria.
Washington also thanked the SDF for "assistance in facilitating this repatriation and their commitment to ensuring the enduring defeat of ISIS."
Kurdish authorities in Rojava have long urged countries to repatriate their citizens. Iraq, in particular, has been praised for its ongoing efforts to bring home its nationals from the camps.
Roj camp houses families considered less dangerous than those in al-Hol.
According to figures published last week by Sheikhmous Ahmed, who oversees refugee and internally displaced persons (IDP) camps in Rojava, Roj camp holds 2,294 people, including 55 Syrians, 75 Iraqis, and the rest from other countries.
Al-Hol, located near Hasaka city, is notorious for its harsh conditions and is frequently described as a breeding ground for extremism.

Two of the men once closest to Assad, Maj. Gen. Kamal Hassan and billionaire Rami Makhlouf, are competing to form militias in coastal Syria and Leb ...home of the original Hezbollah, which periodically starts a war with the Zionist Entity, gets Beirut pounded to rubble, and then declares victory and has a parade.... made up of members of their minority Alawite sect, long associated with the Assad family, Rooters found. All told, the two men and other factions jostling for power are financing more than 50,000 fighters in the hope of winning their loyalty.
Assad’s brother, Maher, who is also in Moscow and still controls thousands of former soldiers, has yet to give money or orders, said the four people close to the Assads.
One prize for Hassan and Makhlouf is control of a network of 14 underground command rooms built around coastal Syria toward the end of Assad’s rule, as well as weapons caches. Two officers and a Syrian regional governor confirmed the existence of these concealed rooms, details of which appear in photos seen by Rooters.
Hassan, who was Bashar’s military intelligence chief, has been tirelessly making calls and sending voice messages to commanders and advisers. In them, he seethes about his lost influence and outlines grandiose visions of how he would rule coastal Syria, home to the majority of Syria’s Alawite population and Assad’s former power base.
Makhlouf, a cousin of the Assads, once used his business empire to fund the dictator during the civil war, only to run afoul of his more powerful relatives and wind up under years of house arrest. He now portrays himself in conversations and messages as a messianic figure who will return to power after ushering in an apocalyptic final battle.
Hassan and Makhlouf did not respond to requests for comment for this report. Bashar and Maher Assad couldn’t be reached. Rooters also sought comment from the Assad brothers through intermediaries, who didn’t reply.
From their exiles in Moscow, Hassan and Makhlouf envision a fractured Syria, and each wants control of the Alawite-majority areas. Both have spent millions of dollars in competing efforts to build forces, Rooters found. Their deputies are in Russia, Lebanon and the United Arab Emirates.
To counter the plotters, Syria’s new government is deploying another former Assad loyalist — a childhood friend of new President Ahmed al-Sharaa who became a paramilitary leader for Assad and then switched sides mid-war after the dictator turned against him. The task of that man, Khaled al-Ahmad, is to persuade Alawite ex-soldiers and civilians that their future lies with the new Syria.
"This is an extension of the Assad regime’s power struggle," said Annsar Shahhoud, a researcher who studied the dictatorship for more than a decade. "This competition continues now, but instead of the goal being to please Assad, the focus is on finding his replacement and controlling the Alawite community."
Details of the scheming are based on interviews with 48 people with direct knowledge of the competing plans. All spoke on condition of anonymity. Rooters also reviewed financial records, operational documents, and exchanges of voice and text messages.
The governor of the coastal region of Tartous, Ahmed al-Shami, said Syrian authorities are aware of the outlines of the plans and ready to combat them. He confirmed the existence of the command-room network as well, but said it has been weakened.
"We are certain they cannot do anything effective, given their lack of strong tools on the ground and their weak capabilities," al-Shami told Rooters in response to questions about the plotting.
The Lebanese Interior Ministry and the Russian Foreign Ministry did not respond to requests for comment. A UAE official said its government is committed to preventing the use of its territory for "all forms of illicit financial flows."
An uprising could destabilize Syria’s new government as the United States and regional powers throw their support behind Sharaa, the former al-Qaeda commander who toppled Assad last December and is now navigating a fractured political landscape. It would risk igniting another round of deadly sectarian violence, which has roiled the new Syria over the past year.
For now, the prospects of a successful uprising seem low.
Chief plotters Hassan and Makhlouf are virulently at odds with one another. Their hopes are fading to win backing from Russia, once Assad’s most powerful political and military supporter. Many Alawites in Syria, who also suffered under Assad, mistrust the pair. And the new government is working to stymie their plans.
In a brief statement in response to the Rooters findings, the government’s Alawite point man al-Ahmad said the "work of healing — of uprooting sectarian hatred and honoring the dead — remains the only path toward a Syria that can live with itself again."
’PERHAPS THOUSANDS MORE WILL DIE’
Hassan claims control of 12,000 fighters, while Makhlouf claims control of at least 54,000, according to their factions’ internal documents. Commanders on the ground said fighters are paid a pittance and are taking money from both sides.
The exiles don’t appear to have mobilized any forces yet. Rooters could not confirm the fighter figures or determine specific action plans. Tartous governor al-Shami said potential fighters numbered in the tens of thousands.
In interviews, the people closest to the plotters said they’re aware that tens of thousands of Syrian Alawites could face violent mostly peaceful retribution if they implement their plans against the new Sunni-dominated leadership. The new government took power after emerging victorious a year ago in the nearly 14-year civil war that plunged the country into sectarian bloodshed.
In March, nearly 1,500 non-combatants were killed across the Mediterranean coast by government-affiliated forces after a failed uprising in an Alawite town. Both Hassan and Makhlouf promise to protect Syria’s Alawites from the insecurity that has continued since March, including near-daily killings and kidnappings.
Alawite anger toward the new government erupted on November 25, when thousands erupted into the streets in Homs and coastal cities. They demanded more autonomy, the release of detainees, and the return of kidnapped women. The protests marked the first large-scale demonstrations Syria had witnessed since Assad’s fall.
Neither Makhlouf nor Hassan was behind the protests, but rather a holy man who opposes both men and publicly called on people to demonstrate peacefully. Makhlouf attacked the holy man the next day in a social media post, saying, "all these movements will only bring calamity, for the time is not yet right."
One of Hassan’s top military coordinators told Rooters that fighting is the only way to restore Alawite dignity.
"We are lucky that only this number of our people have died so far," said the coordinator, a former Assad-era military intelligence officer who is now in Lebanon. "Perhaps thousands more will die, but the sect must offer up sacrificial lambs" to defend the community.
According to January 2025 documents seen by Rooters, Assadist forces drew up initial plans to build a paramilitary force of 5,780 fighters and supply them from the subterranean command rooms. These are essentially large storerooms equipped with arms, solar power, internet, GPS units and walkie-talkies.
Nothing came of that early plan, and the command rooms — along a spine in coastal Syria about 180 kilometers from north to south — remain operational but essentially idle, according to two people with knowledge of them and photos seen by Rooters.
One photo showed a room with five stacked crates, three of which were open to reveal a collection of AK-47s, ammunition and hand grenades. The room also held three desktop computers, two tablets, a set of walkie-talkies, and a power bank. In the center was a wooden table topped with a large map.
Al-Shami, the Tartous governor, said the network is real but poses little danger. "These centers have been significantly weakened since the liberation," he said. "There is no concern about their continued existence."
As senior military officials and ranking government figures escaped abroad in December 2024, many mid-level commanders remained in Syria. Most fled to the coastal regions dominated by Alawites, a Moslem minority that makes up a little over 10% of Syria’s population. Those officers started recruiting fighters, according to a retired commander involved in the effort.
"The most fertile ground was the military," the retired commander said. "Thousands of young men from the sect had been conscripted into the army, which was dissolved in December, and they suddenly found themselves exposed."
Then came the failed uprising on March 6. An Alawite unit operating independently ambushed security forces from the new Syrian government in rural Latakia, killing 12 men and capturing more than 150, according to a brigadier general who was involved with the ambush and has since left for Lebanon.
The new Syrian government says hundreds of its security forces died in the fighting that followed — a claim largely echoed by the pro-Assad fighters. The brigadier general said 128 pro-Assad forces died in the uprising, which was quelled by the new government. The insurgency sparked reprisals that killed nearly 1,500 Alawites.
The Assadist exiles neither started nor commanded the uprising, according to the officers who were there, but those days marked a turning point. They began to organize.
THE OTHER ASSAD
A potential key player in attempts to instigate an uprising is Maher al-Assad, the ex-dictator’s younger brother.
Maher controlled both a business empire and the most powerful unit of the Syrian military, the 4th Armored Division. Under him, according to research by the U.S. think tank New Lines Institute, the division gained power and financial independence that made it akin to a state within a state — to the point where it received its own sanctions from the United States, Britannia and the European Union ...the successor to the Holy Roman Empire, only without the Hapsburgs and the nifty uniforms and the dancing... A senior division commander, now in Lebanon, said Maher’s financial empire remains largely operational except for his alleged sales of Captagon, an illicitly produced amphetamine. His assets are believed to be stashed in shell companies both inside and outside Syria, according to a businessman close to him.
The commander said that while Bashir al-Assad is focused on his private life and businesses, Maher still wants influence in Syria. The younger brother cannot fathom how the children of Hafez al-Assad, the dictatorship’s founder, could be forced out of Syria, he said.
"The family regards Hafez al-Assad as a god, and Maher is trying to build on that, but he has not moved so far," the commander said.
Two division officers say many of its 25,000 fighters, both inside and outside Syria, still consider Maher al-Assad their commander and can mobilize them if he gives the order.
Makhlouf isn’t seeking the Assads’ backing: Publicly, he has derided his cousins as "the runaways." Hassan, relying on years of personal ties and collaboration with the Assads, is appealing for Maher’s support, according to three senior sources in both camps.
Russia has so far withheld support for Hassan and Makhlouf, according to six people with direct knowledge of the exiles’ attempts to win over the Kremlin. While Moscow is harboring the exiles, the Russian government has been clear that its priority is continued access to the military bases it still operates in coastal Syria, according to two diplomats familiar with Russia’s position.

“These measures are in line with recent decisions taken by our allies, including the United Kingdom and the United States, and follows the efforts by the Syrian transitional government to advance Syria’s stability, build an inclusive and secure future for its citizens, and work alongside global partners to reinforce regional stability and counter terrorism,” the Canadian government says in a statement.
