..who accused Republicans of taking away his right to vote
Usually a consequence in most states for felony conviction. Deep blue states have been removing that penalty and death as an obstruction to voting.

He does not seem like the Lex Luther type of villain. Possibly sending him a text that invites him to a high level brainstorm meeting with Michael Moore might be enough to reel him on in.

[OneIndia] The National Investigation Agency (NIA) has arrested the seventh person in connection with the brutal killing of tailor Kanhaiya Lal in Rajasthan's Udaipur last month.
Farhad Mohammad Sheikh, alias Babla, was arrested on Saturday evening, a spokesperson from the NIA said. He was a "close criminal associate" of Riaz Akhtari, one of the two main accused, and took an active part in the conspiracy to kill the tailor, the spokesperson added.
Kanhaiya Lal was killed with murdered a cleaver inside his tailoring shop on June 28 and the incident was recorded by one ot the two accused (Riaz Akhtari, who is also referred to as Riyaz Attari) on camera.
They claimed in another clip that they hacked Lal to death to avenge an alleged insult to Islam.
As the incident shocked the entire nation, the cops flung into action and they were arrested within hours of the killing. Besides the duo, against whom the evidence is a self-shot video, the security agencies nabbed two more persons -- identified Mohsin and Asif -- who are alleged to be a part of the conspiracy to spread terror amongst the public on the lam. Two more accused -- Mohammed Mohsin and Wasim -- were arrested subsequently for being part of the criminal conspiracy and helping the two main accused in carrying out recce of the tailor's shop.
The probe agencies have claimed to have found several Pak numbers on their WhatsApp accounts and said that one of the accused was part of some secret groups ostensibly meant for religious activities. In one of these groups, it was alleged that Ghouse had been asked to do "something spectacular" to avenge the insult to Islam and the officials believed that this could be the turning point where the "barbaric" act of killing the tailor could have been hatched.
They said that Mohsin's place was used for sharpening the cleaver used in the killing and Asif had helped in carrying out the recce of the tailor's shop. The NIA had on June 29 re-registered the case under the anti-terror Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act after taking it over from the Rajasthan Police.
The case was initially registered at Dhanmandi cop shoppe in Udaipur. "NIA has re-started the paperwork but haven't done much else under sections 452, 302, 153(A), 153(B), 295(A) and 34 of IPC and sections 16, 18 & 20 of UA(P) Act, 1967 against accused who have conspired, planned and committed the heinous murder...," the agency spokesperson had said.
"The accused persons had also circulated a video of the criminal act in the social media claiming responsibility for the murder in order to trigger panic and strike terror among the masses across the country," the spokesperson had said.

It’s Türkiye! You ignorant Americans!
In English it's "Turkey". Different language, different pronunciation and spelling. I'd have thought someone who is multilingual would understand that.

Now It’s Türkiye, Not Turkey, at the United Nations
[NYT] The Turkish government wants the rest of the world to use the country’s own name for itself, and lose the association with a certain bird.
June 2, 2022
We noted it here at the time. But since we think the association both merited and amusing, we’ll keep it until a new Kemal Ataturk comes along.

Back when I was four, I had a pet turkey big enough I would ride it like a horse. I still think live Turkey's are nasty birds. Kind of like the country and its inhabitants.

[Rudaw] The body of a Syrian man was found in the notorious al-Hol camp
...sometimes spelt Hawl camp, because transliteration is an art...
late Saturday, reported Syrian news outlets, believed to have been killed by the Islamic State ...formerly ISIS or ISIL, depending on your preference. Before that they were al-Qaeda in Iraq, as shaped by Abu Musab Zarqawi. They're really very devout, committing every atrocity they can find in the Koran and inventing a few more. They fling Allah around with every other sentence, but to hear western pols talk they're not really Moslems.... (ISIS) sleeper cells inside the camp.
Very probably the bad killed by the worse.
The man’s throat was slit using a sharp object, according to the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights (SOHR), adding that the body was found by the Kurdish Red Islamic Thingy in al-Hol’s third section, which only houses Syrian nationals.
A source from the camp told the local North Press Agency (NPA) that the man was a displaced Syrian citizen from Deir ez-Zor, without revealing his name.
At least 25 people have been killed in al-Hol since the start of 2022, ten of which have been of Syrian nationality, according to SOHR.
At least eight people were killed in al-Hol in June.
Saeed al-Jaiashi, strategic affairs advisor at the Iraqi National Security Advisory told Rudaw’s Halabja Sadoun on Monday that Iraq has repatriated over 610 families, numbering 2600 people, from al-Hol, adding that there are currently 8,000 Iraqi families remaining in the camp.
Hawl Camp, 45 km east of the city of Hasakah, is a house for 55.829 individuals, including 28.725 Iraqis, 18.850 Syrians and 8.254 of foreign nationalities, according to the latest statistics obtained by North Press.
The body was of a Syrian IDP from the city of Deir ez-Zor, the source added.
The camp witnesses murders with different methods, most notably firearms. The management of the camp fears that the latest Turkish threats of invading areas in northern Syria would pave the way for ISIS to reorganize its ranks; North Press cited a statement by the management as saying.
Since the start of Turkish threats, with a new military operation in northern Syria, and the escalation of these threats every period, ISIS sleeper cells have been highly active, especially in Hawl Camp.
