A New York City teenager has been arrested and charged with hate crime and aggravated harassment, making terrorist threats and threatening mass harm after he announced his intention to kill Jewish children in Brooklyn, the New York City Police Department said on Tuesday, according to JNS.
In a video chat recording shared on social media by New York City Councilwoman Inna Vernikov, the 18-year-old said, “If I see Jewish people in the USA, I swear to God I’ve got to kill them. I try to kill kids. You know the kids for the Jewish people? I try to kill them."
The suspect also said he lives in Harlem and wanted to go to Brooklyn because he reportedly heard somebody say a lot of Jews live there. “I want big building, a lot of Jewish people, a whole school with kids," he said.
The NYPD told JNS a complaint report was “filed for terrorism" on Monday in the 32nd Precinct. The suspect was arrested on April 6 at about 6:30 p.m.
New York City Mayor Zohran Mamdani has not yet commented on the terror threat or the arrest.
Mamdani, who was already under fire during his mayoral campaign for his anti-Israel views, caused an uproar on his first day in office when he cancelled executive orders related to Israel, which were issued by his predecessor, Eric Adams. The move cancelled an order signed by Adams in June of 2025 formally recognizing the International Holocaust Remembrance Alliance’s (IHRA) working definition of antisemitism. Another executive order which was cancelled prohibited mayoral appointees and agency staff from boycotting and disinvesting from Israel.

We've sunk most/all of their dedicated mine layers and mine sweepers. Even if Iran was willing to cooperate, which is up in the air right now, they won't be of much use.
So the burden of mine sweeping will fall on the US, since I don't think many of Gulf nations have a large number of mine sweepers and the bulk of our so called European allies won't help.
For the few that might help, we'll have to provide logistical support for them, due to their limited endurance.

A lot of people to include the Rant used the word 'war crime' but never could cite what made it such outside of their own proclivity. I'm sure those who screamed taking out bridges and infrastructure was a 'war crime' will now jump on this. Nah.

This explains a lot about why nothing was moving despite ceasefire - not simple intransigence, but inability and lost awareness due to combat losses. We killed many of the people who put them in place and took out the places where any records were kept. It also might explains the curious tolerance Trump seemed to be showing for non=compliance .

I'll add that IIRC the US left much of the mine sweeping to our allies, while the US focused more on blue water force projection centered around a carrier and it's escorts. This left the US with aging and pending retirement Avenger class minesweepers which where forward deployed to critical areas, helicopter mine sweeping and the fingers crossed hope that the littoral frigates can be useful in the mine sweeping role.

Russia and China have very large minesweeping fleets.
Russia won't be willing to help because high oil prices are what they want.

Damage was caused by several rocket strikes, including in Misgav Am, Nahariya, Deir al-Assad and Safed, according to rescue services, though no injuries were reported.

The strikes caused "a significant and deep blow" to Hezbollah, the military claimed.
"Following an initial intelligence assessment by the Military Intelligence Directorate, it can be determined that the IDF has eliminated more than 180 gunnies from the Hezbollah terror organization," the IDF said, adding that it is continuing to verify additional deaths, meaning the true number may be higher.
The IDF said that the targets included more than 45 "central headquarters" and another 40 buildings used by the terror group to advance attacks on Israel, alongside other infrastructure belonging to the terror group’s leadership.
In Beirut alone, the IDF said it struck 35 Hezbollah sites, including an emergency headquarters of the terror group’s intelligence division, a headquarters of the elite Radwan Force, and a headquarters of the group’s missile unit.
In south Lebanon, the military said the strikes hit several weapon depots. And in the Beqaa Valley, the IDF struck several headquarters of the Radwan Force and Hezbollah’s intelligence division.
The military said that most of the Hezbollah sites were located "within the heart of a civilian population, as part of the cynical exploitation by the Hezbollah terror organization of Lebanese civilians as human shields."
The IDF said it took steps to "minimize harm to civilians" in the strikes. According to Lebanese health authorities, among the dead in Wednesday’s strikes were women and kiddies.
In total, the IDF has killed more than 1,400 Hezbollah operatives in Lebanon since hostilities escalated on March 2, it claimed Friday. Lebanon’s health ministry says Israeli attacks have killed over 1,800 people, in tolls that do not differentiate between fighters and civilians.
