One of the architects of the deadly 2012 attack on the US consulate in Benghazi, Libya, has been arrested and will be prosecuted on arson, murder and terrorism charges, Justice Department officials announced Friday.

"Time will not stop us from going after these predators, no matter how long it takes, in order to fulfill our obligation to those families who suffered horrific pain at the hands of these violent terrorists," Pirro added.
The Sept. 11, 2012, assault on the diplomatic compound in Libya’s second-largest city took the lives of US Ambassador Chris Stevens, State Department official Sean Smith and CIA contractors Glen Doherty and Tyrone Woods.
Islamic militants stormed the complex and set fire to it while launching mortars at a nearby CIA facility as part of a coordinated assault.
Jeanine Pirro, the US attorney for the District of Columbia, told news hounds that al-Bakoush had initially been charged in 2015, but the indictment had remained sealed.
He was charged with both the murder of Stevens and another State Department employee, Sean Smith, as well as the attempted murder of a State Department special agent, Pirro said.
Two other US government personnel, Tyrone Woods and Glen Doherty, were also killed in the incident. al-Bakoush was not charged with their killing.

Another man, Ahmed Abu Khatallah, had previously been convicted in the US in connection with the attack and is currently serving a 28-year sentence after being taken into custody in 2014.
US prosecutors said Abu Khatallah led an gang in Libya and ordered the attack. Abu Khatallah was cleared of murder charges, but convicted of four other "terrorism" related charges in the case.
Libyan national, Mustafa al-Imam, was also convicted in 2020 for his role in the attack, but was not directly charged with the killings.

He was one of the people who killed an acquaintance of mine. I'd call the acquaintance a friend, but our contacts, though like minded, were sparing. I do miss his nasty stileto-like wit, though.
Once this POS is convicted, I recommend drawing and quartering as a 'punishment'. If he survives that (unlikely) I have other things in mind. I DO hold hate in my heart for his ilk.
