Africa Subsaharan
Tinubu Returns To Nigeria With Tube Suspected To Be PICC Line Attached To Right Arm As Nigerians Express Concern
[SAHARAREPORTERS] Nigeria's 'President-elect' Bola Tinubu, returned from La Belle France with a thin tube suspected to be a peripherally inserted central catheter (PICC line) on his right arm, confirming he was undergoing medical treatment abroad.

SaharaReporters earlier reported that Tinubu returned to Abuja, Nigeria's Federal Capital Territory, on Monday after weeks of medical treatment abroad, ahead of his inauguration as the next President on May 29

This confirms SaharaReporters' story that Tinubu was expected to return to the country today (Monday), more than a month after leaving for La Belle France to seek medical treatment

Although, his Director of Media and Publicity, Bayo Onanuga insisted the ’President-elect’ was on vacation in La Belle France, SaharaReporters had exclusively reported that Tinubu fell ill after the March 18 governorship and State Assembly elections and was flown to La Belle France for medical treatment.

However,
the man who has no enemies isn't anybody and has never done anything...
despite the denials, SaharaReporters earlier reported that Tinubu’s ailment was so severe that for five days while being hospitalised, he could not speak and had to be intubated.

Intubation is a procedure required to help save a life when the patient cannot breathe.

It is a process where a healthcare provider inserts a tube through a patient’s mouth or nose, then down into their trachea (airway/windpipe). The tube keeps the trachea open so that air can get through. The tube can connect to a machine that delivers air or oxygen.

According to Cleveland, kept in touch with the world by Obamaphone,
...was ruled by a Democrat machine from 1942 through 1971. After the river caught fire during the administration of Carl Stokes they tried a Republican, then went back to being Democrats when the party hacked up Dennis Kucinich ...
Clinic, common conditions that lead to intubation include airway obstruction (something caught in the airway, blocking the flow of air); cardiac arrest (sudden loss of heart function); injury or trauma to your neck, abdomen or chest that affects the airway; loss of consciousness or a low level of consciousness, which can make a person lose control of the airway.

Others include the need for surgery that will make you unable to breathe on your own; respiratory (breathing) failure or apnea (a temporary stop in breathing) and risk for aspiration (breathing in an object or substance such as food, vomit or blood).

SaharaReporters also reported that Tinubu’s tongue was reportedly sticking out during the time his condition was severe.

"Tinubu’s ailment and health were in shambles before he left Nigeria to undertake treatment in a French hospital," a source had said.

"The sickness was so severe that for five days during his hospitalisation, he could speak and had to be intubated," another source had said.

"His tongue was reportedly sticking out," one of the sources had added.

However,
the man who has no enemies isn't anybody and has never done anything...
while addressing journalists shortly after his return, it was noticed that Tinubu had a suspected PICC line attached to his upper arm.

Pictures of Tinubu with the 'medical device' have since gone viral on social media platforms.

According to some medical experts, PICC is used to deliver medications and other treatments directly to the large central veins near your heart.

"Your doctor might recommend a PICC line if your treatment plan requires frequent needle sticks for medicine or blood draws," Dr Gerald Okoye told SaharaReporters.

Britain
UK’s Labour suspends MP Diane Abbott for saying Jews don’t face racism
[IsraelTimes] Party condemns ’deeply offensive and wrong’ comments; politician, a close ally of former leader Jeremy Corbyn, later retracts remarks, says draft letter sent in error to newspaper
Clearly they’re still cleaning out those willing to admit agreeing with the vile Jeremy Corbin on the subject. If only our Democratic Party would follow England’s Labour in this as they’ve done with so much else.
The UK’s main opposition Labour party suspended prominent member Diane Abbott as an MP on Sunday, pending an investigation into comments she made that Jewish people were not subject to racism "all their lives."

Abbott, the first black woman to become an MP in the UK, said in a letter to the Observer newspaper that Irish, Jewish and Traveller (Roma) people all "experience prejudice" similar to that suffered by "white people with points of difference, such as redheads. But they are not all their lives subject to racism."

"At the height of slavery, there were no white-seeming people manacled on the slave ships," she added.

Labour immediately announced that Abbott, who was shadow interior minister under the leadership of Jeremy Corbyn, had been suspended from its parliamentary party.

"The Labour party completely condemns these comments, which are deeply offensive and wrong," said a front man.

"The chief whip has suspended the Labour whip from Diane Abbott pending an investigation."

Abbott later tweeted that she wanted to "wholly and unreservedly withdraw my remarks," saying that an initial draft of the letter had been sent in error.

"Racism takes many forms and it is completely undeniable that Jewish people have suffered its monstrous effects," she said.

An Equality and Human Rights Commission investigation into antisemitism in the Labour party under Corbyn found in 2020 that the party was "responsible for unlawful acts of harassment and discrimination."

Corbyn’s replacement, Keir Starmer, apologized over the issue and confirmed his predecessor would not be allowed to stand as a Labour candidate at the next election.

#1  I mean, she's an idiot, but even the articles rebutting her statements could only go as far as reporting numbers of hate crimes or whatever against a laundry list of ethnic minorities. Apparently not one of the 48 million white people in England/Wales not a single one ever experienced any form of discrimination (unless they were Irish). Amazing! With 'racism' defined as 'when a white person...', it's really only a tiny leap of absurdity further to add '...to a black person'.

Pre-trial hearings resume for SEAsian suspects held at Guantanamo
[BenarNews] Prosecutors preparing a case against three Southeast Asians incarcerated at Guantanamo Bay will finish sharing evidence with defense attorneys in January 2024, lawyers said Monday, illustrating the glacial pace of progress toward trial for men held at the controversial prison since 2006.

Indonesian Encep Nurjaman (also known as Hambali
...real name Riduan Isamuddin, close personal friend of Osama bin Laden, one of the founders of Jemaah Islamiyah and the planner of the 2002 Bali bombings. He was captured with the help of a mid-Eastern intel service, shipped to Guantanamo to rot but he'll likely be released eventually because that was a long time ago and we were all so much younger then...
) and Malaysians Nazir bin Lep
...more formally Mohammed Nazir Bin Lep, informally Lillie. He’s one of Hambali’s lieutenants — they were captured together in Thailand in 2003...
and Farik bin Amin
... another Hambali lieutenant, he’s known more formally as Mohd Farik Bin Amin, his nom de guerre was Zubair Zaid and while it’s uncertain whether he was captured with the other two, the three spent years with the same interrogators. His cousin was master bomb maker Zulkifli Abdhir, called Marwan, who provided senior management and work product for the Kumpulan Mujahidin Malaysia, Jemaah Islamiyah, and the Bangsamoro Islamic Freedom Fighters until he intersected a hail of Philippine bullets in 2015...
were present in the courtroom at the U.S. military facility in Cuba for proceedings witnessed by news hounds via video link to Fort Meade, a military base about an hour northeast of Washington. The men face charges linked to terrorist bombings in Indonesia in 2002 and 2003.

Lead prosecutor Col. George C. Kraehe said his team was seeking to "get this case tried on the merits by March 2025."

Earlier, Brian Bouffard, who represents bin Lep, questioned the government’s pace in presenting evidence to the defense teams. Lawyers for bin Amin and Nurjaman raised similar issues.

"We are trying to uncover the reasons for delay after delay after delay," Bouffard told the court.

Military Judge Hayes C. Larsen noted the defense concerns about late filings.

Kraehe said his team was working to gather evidence for the trial, adding that it was working on this even during the hearing.

"This is not unusual in a national security case," he said.

Kraehe said that about 90% of the evidence had been turned over to the defense, and the remaining 10% was highly classified. Because of that, steps need to be taken before it is turned over to defense, he said, adding that he expected to finish doing so by late January 2024.

Referred to as "alien unprivileged enemy belligerents" in some court documents, Nurjaman, bin Amin and bin Lep face charges related to twin bombings that killed 202 people in Bali in October 2002 — Indonesia’s deadliest terror attack to date — and a bombing at the J.W. Marriott hotel in Jakarta in 2003.

Following their 2003 arrests in Thailand, the three were sent to secret CIA black sites before being moved to the Guantanamo Bay prison in 2006. A U.S. Senate report released in 2014 found that each was tortured during his time in the black sites.

INTERPRETATION ISSUES
Monday’s hearing — the first of three days scheduled — began with prosecutors questioning Larsen, who will be leaving the bench in June to assume command of the Navy’s Defense Service Office West. He said he did not have any information about who would take over the trial.

Twenty minutes into the hearing, Bouffard and Christine Funk, who represents bin Amin, complained — as they have done throughout the legal process — of inadequate translation services, saying their clients were hearing Bahasa Indonesia interpretation instead of their national language, Bahasa Malaysia.

Later, the two lawyers told Larsen that English words were being intermixed with the translations.

"It’s a tired refrain," Larsen responded, dismissing the complaint.

During their two-day August 2021 arraignment, lawyers for the three men spent much of the time protesting before Larsen regarding the poor quality of interpreting.

Larsen ordered military prosecutors to hire and assign qualified interpreters for any upcoming court action.

#1  Susan Sim, 12 Dec, 2021,
This Week in Asia
Two decades after Singapore began cracking down on a pan-Southeast Asia terrorist group calling itself Jemaah Islamiah (JI), the network’s operations leader, Hambali, remains at Guantanamo Bay awaiting trial. The evidence against him shows that he took orders and money from the al-Qaeda mastermind behind 9/11 to stage terrorist attacks in the region, including the deadly Bali bombings in 2002, and was planning yet more attacks when captured in 2003. In the second of a two-part feature, Susan Sim, who was a journalist in Jakarta during the events of September 11, 2001, takes a look at his legacy of mayhem.
In late August this year, a US military commission in Guantanamo Bay charged Hambali and two Malaysians he had recruited for an aborted al-Qaeda suicide attack on the United States – Mohd Farik bin Amin, alias Zubair, and Mohammed Nazir bin Lep, alias Lillie – with conspiracy, murder, terrorism and attacking civilians.
The charges centred on two terrorist attacks in Indonesia where Americans had been among the casualties. Hambali himself does not appear to dispute his involvement in both attacks. But the charge sheet also implicates him in every significant JI activity up to and a year beyond his capture. ...

NIA attaches house, land of Hizb chief's two sons in Srinagar, Budgam

"The National Investigation Agency (NIA) on Monday attached two properties of the sons of designated terrorist Syed Mohammed Yusuf Shah @ Syed Salahudeen, the self-styled Supreme Commander of Hizb-Ul-Mujahideen (HM) and Chairman of United Jihad Council (UJC)," said an NIA front man, in a statement.

He said the immovable properties of Shahid Yusuf and Syed Ahmed Shakeel, located in Kashmir — in Soibugh Tehsil, Distt. Budgam and Nursing Garh, Mohalla Ram Bagh, have been attached under section 33(1) of UA( P) Act.

Both Shahid Yusuf and Syed Ahmed Shakeel are lodged in Delhi’s Tihar Jail since their arrest in October 2017 and August 2018. They were chargesheeted on 20th April 2018 and 20th November 2018, respectively. "The duo had been receiving funds from abroad from the associates of their father and overground workers of HM," read the statement.

"Syed Salahudeen, who had fled to Pakistain in 1993, was designated as an individual terrorist by India in October 2020. He continues to operate from Pakistain, from where he is guiding and instructing HUM cadres as well as self-proclaimed geniuss of UJC, also known as Muttahida Jihad Council (MJC) which is a conglomerate of around 13 Pakistain-based Kashmir centric terror outfits," said the statement.

"Besides instigating and operationalising murderous Moslem activities in India, primarily in Kashmir valley, Syed Salahudeen has been raising funds and routing finances to India through trade routes, Hawala channels, and international money transfer channels for furthering the terrorist activities of HM cadres."

"The NIA launched investigations in November 2011 into the criminal conspiracy to raise/collect/provide funds to commit terrorist acts and distribute funds among the terror groups and their sympathizers in Jammu and Kashmir for the purpose of committing terrorist acts. The Special Cell of Delhi Police had initially started the paperwork but haven't done much else in January 2011 and the case was subsequently taken over by NIA. Chargesheets as well as Supplementary Chargesheets were filed against eight accused in the case, including in 2011 and 2018."

"NIA has been cracking down on terror funding machinery in a bid to dismantle the terrorist financing ecosystem operating in Jammu and Kashmir with the help of individuals based in Pakistain and other countries. On Monday itself, the agency had also seized six shops in Awantipora in a case relating to a 2018 attack on CRPF Group Centre at Lethpora, J&K. Some land, including a house, belonging to the father of one of the accused was also attached in the same case in September 2020. In 2021, NIA had attached residential properties belonging to the kin of two accused in the case of the terrorist attack on CRPF Convoy at Lethpora, Pulwama. Another residential property has also been attached by NIA in the case relating to the killing of two brothers (Anil Parihar and Ajit Parihar)."

Explosive arms killed over 700 civilians in 2022: report
[Dawn] Pakistain experienced the highest number of civilian casualties due to use of explosive weapons in 2022, says a report by Action on Armed Violence (AOAV), a London-based charity, recording 721 civilian casualties due to use of explosive weapons in 126 incidents in the country.

This marked a 62 per cent increase from 445 civilian casualties recorded across 100 incidents in 2021, says the Explosive Violence Monitor 2022. Moreover, it means the rate of civilian harm per incident increased from 4.5 to 5.7, according to the report which was released on Monday.

Most notably, incidents of explosive weapon use by non-state actors rose by 31pc last year, from 71 to 93 incidents, and civilian casualties of such attacks rose by 47pc from 376 to 554.

According to the report, Pakistain appears ninth in the list of top ten countries that were most affected in 2022. Ukraine, Afghanistan and Syria topped the list, while India appears in 11th place and Gazoo
...Hellhole adjunct to Israel and Egypt's Sinai Peninsula, inhabited by Gazooks. It periodically attacks the Hated Zionist Entity whenever Iran needs a ruckus created or the hard boyz get bored, getting thumped by the IDF in return. in 13th.

While the number of recorded incidents of state-perpetrated explosive violence remained the same as 2021, with three incidents recorded, the rate of harm from state attacks increased from 1 to 18.3, with three civilians harmed in such attacks in 2021 compared to 55 last year, the report says.

Improvised bombs (IEDs) caused 71pc (515) of civilian casualties in Pakistain over the past year, while ground-launched weapons caused 194 civilian casualties, and mines caused 12 (a small drop from 15 in 2021).

The Tehrik-e-Taliban
...Arabic for students...
Pakistain (TTP) and Baloch Liberation Army (BLA) are the predominant known perpetrators of explosive violence in the country, and in November 2022 the TTP called off a ceasefire with the Pak government, suggesting that non-state actors will continue to increase their activity in Pakistain, the London-based organization says.

The report reveals that explosive weapons were responsible for over 31,000 deaths and injuries across 4,322 incidents globally in 2022. Out of the total number of casualties, over 20,000 were civilians, accounting for 66pc.

The report highlights that explosive weapons used in populated areas were responsible for 90pc of civilian casualties, while other areas accounted for only 12pc. It recorded 19,632 civilians killed and injured in populated areas globally, which represented 94pc of globally reported civilian deaths and injuries.

The report shows that civilian casualties from the use of explosive weapons soared by 83pc last year, predominantly because of the war in Ukraine, according to AOAV.

A significant proportion of explosive violence incidents recorded by AOAV in 2022 went unclaimed, and could not be attributed to a specific actor. In 8pc (341) of all incidents it was unclear from reporting whether a state or non-state actor was responsible.

The AOAV recorded 2,645 incidents attributed to state actors, which resulted in a total of 19,859 casualties. Of these 71pc (14,166) of were civilians.

Russia was the predominant state perpetrator of civilian harm last year, causing 9,372 civilian casualties across 1,686 incidents. Civilians accounted for 93pc of all 10,083 recorded casualties from Russian explosive violence. Seventeen of those incidents took place in Syria, where Russian explosive weapons caused 82 civilian casualties, and the rest occurred in Ukraine.

The second highest state perpetrator of explosive violence was Myanmar, with 206 recorded incidents and 766 resulting civilian casualties. Other states identified as key perpetrators of civilian harm from explosive violence included Ukraine (600), Saudi Arabia
...a kingdom taking up the bulk of the Arabian Peninsula. Until the accession of King Salman the place was under the thumb of Wahhabi holy men and was the driving force behind Salafist terrorism world-wide. Western intelligence agencies, even the dumb ones, were wise to this from at least September 12th, 2001, but politicians were reluctant to upset the international applecart. Once we started assassinating people instead of invading them the Saudis quietly folded the Death to Infidels tent, did some assassinating of their own, started modernizing, and pretended that Osama bin Laden thing had never happened...
(507 civilian casualties), The Sick Man of Europe Turkey
...the occupiers of Greek Asia Minor...
(459), Æthiopia (436), and Syria (324).

Why has Amritpal been booked under the stringent NSA
[OneIndia] After a four week chase, Amritpal Singh was finally arrested by the Punjab
1.) Little Orphan Annie's bodyguard
2.) A province of Pakistain ruled by one of the Sharif brothers
3.) A province of India. It is majority (60 percent) Sikh and Hindoo (37 percent), which means it has relatively few Moslem riots....

Police.

The National Security Act (NSA) has been slapped on him due to the fact that it has been proven that he is an ISI stooge and has been acting at the behest of the Pakistain deep-state to carry out terror in India and seek a separate Khalistan state.

Like all his other aides, Amritpal too has been shifted to a jail in Assam due to security reasons. Sources tell OneIndia that the decision to shift Singh to Assam was taken to prevent a jail-break like situation in Punjab. Intelligence Bureau reports had suggested that if Singh and his aides are lodged in Punjab, then their followers could orchestrate a jail break, which would in turn lead to violence in the state.

Furthermore the Intelligence had said that if Amritpal and his aides are lodged in Punjab, they could activate the Anandpur Khalsa Fauj, a private army.

Further the police also took a cue from the fact that Amritpal's aide had created havoc at the Ajnala cop shoppe demanding the release of one Lovepreet Toofans. Eventually the Punjab Police had given in and released Toofaan.

The source cited above also said that the NSA had been slapped on Singh as he is a deliberate plant by the ISI to whip up the pro-Khalistan sentiment in the state. Singh who was in Dubai, was first trained by the ISI in Georgia before being dropped into Punjab. The agencies believe that apart from being to rake up the pro-Khalistan sentiment in Punjab, he was also tasked with sheltering murderous Moslems in the state.

Furthermore the NSA was invoked against Singh because he had vitiated the atmosphere in the state by delivering provocative speeches against the Hindu Gods and Jesus Christ.

He is also accused of being involved in arms cases. His supporters have been seeing carrying arms and ammunition openly. Amritpal would order his supporters to openly beat up the youth in the drug-addiction centres if they did not toe the line of the Khalistan movement.

He is also closely linked with the proscribed terror group, Sikhs for Justice. The outfit is run by Gurpatwant Singh Pannun, who has been declared a terrorist by the Indian government.

Pakistan-IMF deal: Ishaq Dar hopeful of early signing
[GEO.TV] Finance Minister Ishaq Dar on Monday said that Pakistain has "fulfilled all the conditions" of the International Monetary Fund (IMF) and hoped that the Fund will soon sign the staff-level agreement, paving the way for the release of the $1.1 billion tranche.

The two sides are engaged in tough talks to reach a consensus on multiple conditions since February before signing the deal which also includes external financing from friendly countries.

Speaking to Geo News today, Ishaq Dar said both Saudi Arabia
...a kingdom taking up the bulk of the Arabian Peninsula. Once we started assassinating people instead of invading them the Saudis quietly folded the Death to Infidels tent, did some assassinating of their own, started modernizing, and pretended that Osama bin Laden thing had never happened...
and the United Arab Emirates (UAE) have informed the IMF about their commitments to provide $3 billion to Pakistain.

Riyadh will provide $2 billion while Abu Dhabi has promised $1 billion to Pakistain, Dar said, adding that the Washington-based lender has also been informed in this regard.

The finance minister said all the conditions for the staff-level agreement between Pakistain and IMF have been fulfilled.

"Pakistain is hopeful that IMF will soon sign the SLA and get it approved by its Executive Board," Ishaq Dar added.

Over a quarter of Israelis, 28%, are children aged 14 or under, while 12% are over the age of 65.

When the state was founded on May 14, 1948, there were 806,000 people living in the country, meaning it has grown twelve-fold over the decades.

The years in between have seen 3.3 million new immigrants colonists arrive in the country. Nearly half of them — 43%, or 1.5 million — arrived since 1990.

According to the figures, at the end of 2021, 46% of the world’s total Jewish population was living in Israel.

Operations were conducted out of Egypt until 1981 when the group was exiled after the assassination of President Anwar Sadat. (PIJ) have taken "unprecedented precautionary measures" in light of unconfirmed reports in the Israeli media concerning the resumption of the policy of liquidations.

The terror groups believe that Hamas’ leader in the Gaza Strip, Yahya Sinwar, and Saleh Arouri, deputy chairman of the group’s political bureau, are at the top of Israel’s list of assassinations.

Sinwar is responsible for building up Hamas’ military capabilities in the Gaza Strip in preparation for the next round of fighting with Israel.

Arouri, who is currently based in Lebanon, is reportedly responsible for a series of terror attacks against Israeli civilians and soldiers in the West Bank. He is also said to be responsible for coordination between Hamas and Hezbollah, Iran’s terror proxy in Lebanon.

In public statements over the past 24 hours, Hamas and PIJ officials warned that a return to the policy of assassinations would lead to more violence.

Hamas-affiliated websites quoted Arouri as saying that he does not take lightly the talk in Israel about assassinating big shots of Paleostinian terror groups.

"We don’t underestimate the threats of the occupation, but we’re not afraid and we will respond," Arouri said. "We don’t rule out the possibility that the [Israeli] enemy might carry out aggression at any moment. We won’t accept any aggression on Hamas or any Paleostinian."

EU sanctions cousins of Syria's Assad for alleged drug trafficking

over the trafficking of stimulant drug captagon, a key source of income for the regime.

An AFP investigation in November found that Syria has become a narco state with the $10 billion industry in captagon dwarfing all other exports and funding both Assad and many of his enemies.

The latest move saw the EU follow Western allies, the United States and Britannia, in imposing asset freezes and visa bans on Wasim Badi al-Assad and Samer Kamal al-Assad.

"The trade in amphetamine has become a regime-led business model, enriching the inner circle of the regime and providing it with revenue that contributes to its ability to maintain its policies of repression against the civilian population," the EU said.

A third cousin of the president, Mudar Rifaat al-Assad, was also included on the blacklist, although no explicit reason was given.

The US Treasury Department says Samer Kamal al-Assad owns a factory in the coastal city of Latakia that produced 84 million captagon pills in 2020.

Others targeted in the EU sanctions include Nouh Zaitar, Leb

has become by far the largest market for captagon, an amphetamine derived from a once-legal treatment for narcolepsy and attention disorder, with the inexpensive drug drawing both the wealthy party set and poor labourers in an Islamic country where alcohol is taboo.

The EU also imposed sanctions against private security firms for helping the Syrian regime recruit fighters and Russian engineering and construction company Stroytransgaz over its control of the country's largest phosphate mines.

#1  The Assad involvement in the narcotics trade is historic. Throughout the 1990s when the family controlled economic activity in Lebanon's Bekaa Valley, the Assad family benefited from illegal drug trafficking. In the next decade a number of Assad family members were 'listed' by the USA for involvement in narcotics trafficking. To this date it remains one important way for Syrian military officers to augment their paychecks.

Toughening Iran sanctions, UK slaps travel ban, asset freeze on Revolutionary Guard
[IsraelTimes] Measures announced by Foreign Secretary James Cleverly also target 4 commanders in the paramilitary group, over brutal crackdown on protesters

The UK government on Monday toughened its sanctions against Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps, as part of new restrictions on Tehran for alleged human rights
...which are usually entirely different from personal liberty...
violations.

Foreign Secretary James Cleverly announced a travel ban and assets freeze on four individuals and the IRGC "in its entirety."

Cleverly said the ban was made in coordination with the United States and European Union
...the successor to the Holy Roman Empire, only without the Hapsburgs and the nifty uniforms and the dancing...
, without giving further details.

He has come under repeated pressure from members of parliament to extend sanctions on members of the IRGC and proscribe it as a terrorist organization.

The UK, along with its Western allies, has increased sanctions on bigwigs in the IRGC after a hardline crackdown on protesters in Iran.

More than 70 Iranian officials and entities have been made subject to UK asset freezes and travel bans since October last year.

The latest involve four IRGC commanders "under whose leadership IRGC forces have opened fired on unarmed protesters resulting in numerous deaths, including of children," the foreign office said.

They had also "arbitrarily detained and protestors," it added.

"The Iranian regime are responsible for the brutal repression of the Iranian people and for exporting bloodshed around the world," Cleverly said. "That’s why we have more than 300 sanctions in place on Iran, including on the IRGC in its entirety."

In response to previous restrictions, Iran
...a theocratic Shiite state divided among the Medes, the Persians, and the (Arab) Elamites. Formerly a fairly civilized nation ruled by a Shah, it became a victim of Islamic revolution in 1979. The nation is today noted for spontaneously taking over other countries' embassies, maintaining whorehouses run by clergymen, involvement in international drug trafficking, and financing sock puppet militias to extend the regime's influence. The word Iran is a cognate form of Aryan. The abbreviation IRGC is the same idea as Stürmabteilung (or SA). The term Supreme Guide is a the modern version form of either Duce or Führer or maybe both. They hate Jews Zionists Jews. Their economy is based on the production of oil and vitriol...
has imposed its own sanctions on the UK and the EU in a tit-for-tat move.

Terror Networks
ISIS activities ‘dramatically’ dropped in Syria, Iraq: Coalition
[Rudaw] The Islamic State (ISIS) activities in Syria and Iraq have significantly decreased since the beginning of the New Year, said the anti-ISIS global coalition commander on Monday, describing the latest Islamic holy month of Ramadan as “one of the most peaceful.”

“Thanks to the efforts of our partners, supported by the coalition, we have seen a dramatic decrease in Daesh or ISIS activity and effectiveness across our area of operations,” said the Combined Joint Task Force - Operation Inherent Resolve (‎CJTF-OIR) Commander Major General Matthew McFarlane during an online press briefing on Monday.

“Since the beginning of this year in Iraq - so that’s January 1 to the first week of April - we have seen a record of a 68 percent reduction in attacks when compared to the same period last year. In Syria, where our partners - the Syrian Democratic Forces - continue to lead the fight against Daesh, we recorded a 55 percent decrease during the same time from last year,” added the commander.

The Kurdish-led SDF has recently carried out several raids and operations against ISIS in eastern Syria, arresting many suspects.

SDF and the coalition forces detained Mohammed al-Sayid, a proven ISIS operative, in a “successful execution” earlier this month, said the coalition in a statement at the time, adding that Sayid was “known for leading several ISIS cells” that broadened the terror group’s operations.

ISIS seized control of swathes of Syria in 2014 but the group was declared territorially defeated in 2019 after the SDF overran its last bastion in Baghouz. However, the terror group continues to pose a serious risk in the region through hit-and-run attacks, abductions, and bombings.

The multi-nation coalition, formed in 2014, has provided training and military support to the SDF, Peshmerga and Iraqi army.

SDF on Wednesday announced the arrest of a former ISIS leader near Deir ez-Zor, accusing him of transporting ammunition and money to the active cells of the group.

US Central Command said last Monday that its forces killed an ISIS senior leader, Abd-al-Hadi Mahmud al-Haji Ali who was an “operational planner responsible for planning terror attacks in the Middle East and Europe.” Two ISIS operatives were also killed in the operation which took place in northern Syria.

Major General McFarlane said during Monday’s briefing that the latest Ramadan, which ended on Thursday, was “one of the most peaceful” ones.

“When I say attacks, a reduction in attacks, I am talking about opportunities and engagements - so relatively small from one to few individuals. ISIS has failed to organise or coordinate anything more than that over the past year,” he noted.
