Mohammed Hamdan Daglo, who commands the powerful paramilitary Rapid Support Forces (RSF) is a Rizayqat Arab, a tribe that predominates in parts of Darfur and Kordofan. The sons of cattle and camel nomads, Rizayqat take particular pleasure in killing Dinka, the southern Sudanese of Bahr al-Ghazal province, and the Zaghawa and other African Muslim tribals of Darfur.
One is left with the forlorn hope that this battle will destroy the corrupt Sudan military.
