At least 20 injured, multiple dead from shooting at Alabama birthday party, reports say
[Whiotv7] DADEVILLE, ALABAMA — Multiple children were killed and many others were injured after a shooting at a teenager’s birthday party in Dadeville, Alabama, Saturday evening.

Dadeville Police, the Tallapoosa County Sheriff’s Office, and Alabama Law Enforcement Agency’s State Bureau of Investigation, among others, responded to a building near the intersection of East Green Street and North Broadnax Street at around 10:30 p.m. on reports of a shooting, Fox News and WRBL reported.

Although law enforcement agents have not officially released the number of people killed or injured in the incident, photos taken by witnesses at the scene showed "the bodies of at least six teenagers on the ground," according to Fox News. The witness observed white sheets covering their bodies.

The shooting also injured others with officers and deputies at the scene reporting at least 20 people wounded, WRBL stated. The injured victims were transported to a local hospital for further care.

During a preliminary investigation, the detectives suspected that an altercation led to the shooting at a teenager’s birthday party, WRBL said.

Officials have not released any information regarding a suspect.

Authorities urge anyone with information to contact Dadeville Police or the Tallapoosa County Sheriff’s Office.

This is a developing story and we will update it as more information is released.

Photographs unavailable. Dadeville demographcis indicate a white population of 54%.

Terrifying bodycam footage shows moment New Mexico cops shoot innocent man dead after knocking WRONG house on domestic violence call - before firing at victim's screaming widow
In my ignorance, that sounds like manslaughter to me. See also here.
[Daily Mail, where America gets its news] Shocking bodycam footage shows the moment New Mexico police shot dead an innocent man after approaching the wrong house on a domestic violence call out, before firing at the victim's screaming widow.

The blood-chilling video, released by Farmington Police, shows officers realize they are at the wrong address seconds before they shoot dead Robert Dotson, 52, who opens his door armed with a gun.

His widow's haunting screams can then be heard from inside the house and a traumatized cop pleads quietly to himself: 'Please, don't.'

Officers had approached 5305 Valley View Avenue on April 5, but they were supposed to go to 5308 Valley View Avenue, located across the street.

When officers knocked on the door and announced themselves no one answered the door.

The footage shows an officer knocking three times, but between the second and third knocks, the three cops discuss whether they were at the wrong address.

The officer at the door asks: 'Is this not 5308? That's what it said right there, right?'

His partner responds: 'No, it said 5305 didn't it?'

The first officer then requests confirmation of the address they have been called out to over his intercom, and the dispatch confirms 5308.

In a chilling moment of levity seconds before their fatal encounter, the officer then appears to say: 'So they told me the wrong…'

The audio then cuts out and a third officer, standing a few feet away from the front door, is heard laughing.

The cops then begin to back away from the door as they prepare to leave, but seconds later Dotson appears opens the door and raises a gun.

Panicked officers are heard shouting: 'Hey! Hey! What the…?!' before shooting Dotson dead instantly.

Officers confirm: 'One down, move out.'

About a minute later, a woman's screams can be heard coming from the house. The woman, later identified as Dotson's widow, Kimberly Jones-Dotson, then appears at the door with a firearm.

One traumatized officer, seemingly fearing another deadly shootout, says under his breath: 'Please, don't.'

The woman fires her weapon at the officers, who return fire. The footage ends after the conclusion of shots being exchanged.

Once Kimberly realized that the individuals outside her home were officers, she put the gun down and complied with their commands.

She was uninjured and has not been charged with a crime. The officers involved were also not injured and their identities have not been disclosed.

The footage shows all three officers fired their weapons during the shooting, but how many rounds were fired is still under investigation.

Farmington Police Chief Steve Hebbe said he could not yet explain why officers turned up to the wrong address.

He told a news conference at Farmington Police Station: 'That's the worst part of this for us. … I can't give you that explanation right now. That is part of the interviews and that's what the state police will be looking at.'

Connecticut man fights off 4 suspects in attempted carjacking in harrowing video
Nancy-boy bangers
[FoxNews] A man in Connecticut traded blows with multiple people who were attempting a brazen broad-daylight carjacking on April 10.

Police are searching for the four suspects captured on camera attempting to steal a car parked in a residential driveway in Rocky Hill, Connecticut.

The homeowner's Ring video surveillance system captured the entire incident, and police released the video as they seek to identify the suspects.

Video of the crime shows a lone carjacker approach and enter a red Infiniti parked on Valley View Drive. The owner, rushing out of the house, confronts the suspect and pulls him out of the car by force.

Footage captures the two struggling before breaking apart — the suspect then charges the owner and the two begin grappling once again.

The suspect was eventually joined by three other suspects, two of which tried to strike the victim's face while he was restrained. The fourth suspect stood by and watched the incident unfold.

The assault ended when another individual inside the house yells out that they are calling the police, inspiring the gang of four suspects to flee in a black Mercedes.
They had a Mercedes and they were going for an Infiniti? That seems backward.
Mercedes was likely stolen as well

New Mexico police fatally shoot man during investigation at wrong home
See also here.
[NYPOST] A New Mexico man was shot and killed by police who mistakenly knocked on his door to investigate a domestic violence incident, according to reports.

Three officers from the Farmington Police Department in northern New Mexico knocked at Robert Dotson’s door at 5305 Valley View Ave earlier this month, even though they questioned dispatchers as to whether they were at the correct address, news outlets and body-camera footage released by the department shows.

Dotson answered the door with a gun in hand, pointing it at the cops — who immediately opened fire, killing him.

Police, who were supposed to be responding to a 911 call from 5308 Valley View Ave., released video footage and 911 audio of the incident Friday, according to reports.

Chief Steve Hebbe ordered the release of the video and audio under state law "and out of a desire to be forthcoming and transparent with the Farmington community, the general public, and the news media," the Farmington Police Department said in a statement.

Although police are heard questioning whether they were at the wrong address and seeking confirmation from dispatch in the video, they still proceeded to knock at the home.

Dotson died at the scene.

A woman later identified as Dotson’s wife appeared at the door about a minute later, as more shots were fired.

Police said she fired a gun at the officers.

The three unidentified officers are on paid leave, pending an investigation, Hebbe said.

"All of us — the men and women of the Farmington Police Department — recognize the severity of this incident," Hebbe said.

"Once again, we wish to express our condolences to the Dotson family and as your chief of police, I wish to convey how very sorry I am that this tragedy occurred."

In one of the 911 audio files released, Dotson’s daughter can be heard crying before saying that her mother was screaming and her father had been shot.

-Great Cultural Revolution
The Digital Currency Monetary Authority (DCMA) Launches an International Central Bank Digital Currency (CBDC)
[prnewswire] April 10, 2023 -- Today, at the International Monetary Fund (IMF) Spring Meetings 2023, the Digital Currency Monetary Authority (DCMA) announced their official launch of an international central bank digital currency (CBDC) that strengthens the monetary sovereignty of participating central banks and complies with the recent crypto assets policy recommendations proposed by the IMF.

Universal Monetary Unit (UMU), symbolized as ANSI Character, Ü, is legally a money commodity, can transact in any legal tender settlement currency, and functions like a CBDC to enforce banking regulations and to protect the financial integrity of the international banking system.

Banks can attach SWIFT Codes and bank accounts to a UMU digital currency wallet and transaction SWIFT-like cross-border payments over digital currency rails completely bypassing the correspondent banking system at best-priced wholesale FX rates and with instantaneous real-time settlement.

In an IMF interview with Tobias Adrian, Financial Counsellor at the International Monetary Fund, he states "Cross-border payments can be slow, expensive, and risky. In today's world of payments, counterparties in different jurisdictions rely on costly trusted relationships to offset the lack of a common settlement asset together with common rules and governance. But imagine if a multilateral platform existed that could improve cross-border payments—at the same time transforming foreign exchange transactions, risk sharing, and more generally, financial contracting."

According to Darrell Hubbard, the Executive Director of the DCMA, and the chief architect of UMU, "This vision expressed by the IMF is the exact solution the DCMA is delivering to central banks worldwide."

Adopting a global localization public monetary system architecture, UMU can be configured to operate according to the central banking regulations of each participating jurisdiction.

George Walker, a Partner at Practus, LLP, specializing in international law, facilitated meetings between the DMCA and the IMF, states "Although the IMF has not officially endorsed Universal Monetary Unit, in reviewing the DCMA's Whitepaper and in weekly team discussions, the IMF has yet to state any objections to UMU's FX premium rates and its monetary sovereignty approach."

According to Darrell, "UMU is not attempting to disrupt the international monetary system. If fact, it strengthens it by helping the IMF achieve its stated mandate to provide economic and financial stability to its member states. UMU is a game-changer in how cross-border payments are transacted and mitigates against seasonal and systemic local currency depreciation."

Universal Monetary Unit Model Law legislation has been drafted in collaboration with several sovereign states. In this proposed legislation, UMU should not be enacted as legal tender for negotiating domestic prices or international trade agreements. Instead, the legislation proposes UMU to be enacted as a complementary money commodity for the store of value, mitigating against potential seasonal and systemic local currency depreciation, and tendered as a payment currency at the time of settlement.

Merchants and trading partners could accept UMU for the equivalent market value for their good and services priced in any national legal tender. UMU has premium exchange rates built into its wallet and can convert any settlement currency amount to the equivalent UMU amount.

Universal Monetary Unit is cryptocurrency reimagined from the ground up to support central banking and regulated financial institutions. It features a trusted consensus protocol, Staked Proof of Trust (SPOT) Protocol, and a multi-dimensional DLT (mDLT) capable of supporting any asset or liability ledger enabling full-service digital banking and international trade payments.

The DCMA introduces Universal Monetary Unit as Crypto 2.0 because it innovates a new wave of cryptographic technologies for realizing a digital currency public monetary system with a widespread adoption framework encompassing use cases for all constituencies in a global economy.

About the Digital Currency Monetary Authority (DCMA) —

The DCMA is a world leader in the advocacy of digital currency and monetary policy innovations for governments and central banks. Membership within the DCMA consists of sovereign states, central banks, commercial and retail banks, and other financial institutions.

About Universal Monetary Unit (UMU) —
Universal Monetary Unit (UMU), also known as Unicoin, is an innovation in store of value cryptography powered by artificial intelligence (AI). Ad expert ranks Bud Light's handling of Dylan Mulvaney fiasco among the worst brand gaffes in HISTORY; brand’s post-brouhaha tweet ‘TGIF?’
[Daily Mail, Where America Gets Its News] Anheuser-Busch's handling of backlash to its Bud Light brand partnership with transgender
...mutton, dressed up as pork...
influencer Dylan Mulvaney has been branded a historically-bad marketing gaffe by a leading expert.

In a Bloomberg Opinion column on Saturday, advertising and brands expert Ben Schott called the Bud Light imbroglio 'a marketing case study for the ages' in 'how not to handle brand collaborations in a dangerously polarized space.'
Indeed.
Schott ranked the incident alongside infamous brand 'gaffes' in history, such as the chairman of Barilla pasta's 2013 declaration that he 'would never do a commercial with a homosexual family'.

And in 2006, the CEO of Abercrombie and Fitch notoriously said the company only wanted 'cool' and 'attractive' customers, saying, 'Are we exclusionary? Absolutely.'

'But Bud Light's action is worse than a gaffe, it's a betrayal,' wrote Schott, noting that the brand retreated into 'cowardly' silence, leaving Mulvaney high and dry, as the controversy went kaboom! online and in bars across the country.

'Bud Light actively and eagerly sought out a controversial influencer in a dangerously polarized space, with neither the wisdom to plan for a backlash nor the bravery to stand by its partner,' he wrote.

Schott was sympathetic to Mulvaney - but condemned Bud Light for choosing to use the star for a campaign, then abandon her when the going got tough.

Mulvaney's April 1 Instagram post saw the influencer showing off commemorative cans

Anheuser-Busch's handling of backlash to its brand partnership with transgender influencer Dylan Mulvaney is facing criticism, after the company seemed to abandon Mulvaney

Musician Kid Rock posted a video of himself shooting at cases of Bud Light, country singers John Rich and Travis Tritt publicly denounced the brand, and Ted Nugent calling the partnership a 'middle finger to their core consumer demographic.'

There was also backlash to the backlash, with shock jock Howard Stern slamming the fury at Bud Light as overblown, and podcaster Joe Rogan calling the conservative outrage over Mulvaney 'goofy.'

As the polarization spilled into barrooms, with patrons trading insults and recriminations over each others' beer choices, a handful of bar owners said they would stop selling Bud Light, at least temporarily, simply to prevent fights.

On Friday afternoon, Anheuser-Busch CEO Brendan Whitworth finally broke the company's silence in a public statement cryptically titled 'Our Responsibility To America.'

Bud Light tweets for first time since Dylan Mulvaney controversy: 'TGIF'

[NYPOST] Bud Light’s official Twitter account on Friday sent out its first tweet since brewing company Anheuser Busch sparked an uproar over its sponsorship deal with transgender
...mutton, dressed up as pork...
influencer Dylan Mulvaney.

"TGIF?" the popular beer’s account tweeted along with a photo of the iconic blue can.

The typically active account has been quiet since April 1 — the day before Mulvaney took to Instagram to announce the deal with the beer giant, promoting a contest that gave Bud Light drinkers a chance to win $15,000.

The advertising sponsorship drew widespread outrage among conservatives, who slammed the company’s decision to partner with a trans self-proclaimed genius as pushing "gender propaganda," and called for boycotts of the company.

Since the partnership, the $132 billion beer company has seen its market value plummet by some $5 billion since the campaign was launched April 1.

Busch distributors around the country have been feeling the fallout, with many bars in red states from Tennessee to Wyoming refusing to stock Bud Light.

Amid the outrage, several Budweiser factories received bomb threats, the Los Angeles Police Department confirmed. It is unclear how many facilities were targeted.

The company had previously defended its decision to hire Mulvaney, an actress and influencer with more than 10 million followers on TikTok, where she documented her gender transition.

However on Friday, the company offered a lukewarm apology to its customers.

"We never intended to be part of a discussion that divides people," Anheuser-Busch InBev CEO Brendan Whitworth said in a blurb titled "Our Responsibility To America."

"We are in the business of bringing people together over a beer," he added, without mentioning Mulvaney in the statement.
Or not, as the case may be. This is why those in business should avoid talking publicly about their personal politics.

Biological Male Poses In Popular Brand's 'Made for Women, By Women' Lingerie Ad
I can’t speak to the rest of it because of the way he is turned, but the model is wearing the wrong size bra — the band rides up in the back, causing lumpiness and discomfort, when it’s too big. But at the company website a good number of the models are wearing bras too small in the cup as well, suggesting their fitters have absolutely no idea what they’re doing.
[TOWNHALL] A high-end, famous lingerie brand is patting itself on the back for selling its luxury clothing "for women, made by women" by featuring a biological male in their bra and panties.

Honey Birdette released a new advertisement to display its new "RUBY" 3-piece lingerie set, including a red bra, panties, and matching stockings. However,
there's more than one way to skin a cat...
a male model shows off the lingerie set with the caption, "Red curtain moment! @jakedupree stars in the RUBY 3 piece set."

The caption also included a long post about its 360-degree decision to change its slogan to "a luxury brand for all."

"Honey Birdette fosters an inclusive and diverse environment, and we will continue to use our voice to empower and support the LGBTQ+ community, women, and anyone who wants to feel fabulous in our lingerie," the post read. "While thoughtful and constructive discussions are important to push culture forward, hate speech and bullying will not be tolerated on our channels. Comments of this negative nature will be deleted, @jakedupree; you are so talented and have our full support!"

According to the model's social media page, DuPree uses the pronouns "they/them" and "non-binary" in his bio. He describes himself as an international burlesque performer, fitness host, instructor, and a "lingerie lover."

The brand's caption also criticized those who disapprove of Dupree showing off their lingerie, saying that although they appreciate constructive criticism, they feel today's culture is more progressive and inclusive and that this should be tolerated.

Anheuser-Busch CEO was a Former CIA Recruitment Specialist
[Gateway] Fans of the second best selling beer brand in the world have been scratching their heads about the decision to bring on transgender TikToker Dylan Mulvaney as a brand ambassador of sorts. The Gateway Pundit has reported extensively on this, from Bud Light doubling down with a second endorsement featuring Mulvaney to the $5 billion dollar hit that the brand took as a result of the controversial endorsement.

The Bud Light marketing executive who said the brand needed a revamp from its "fratty" image and "out of touch humor" was herself, in her younger days, a "fratty" "out of touch humor" type of person. The type that appears to do shots out of a condom and post a "placard" on the "Topics on the Exploration of the Scrotum."

But an interesting discovery posted to Twitter by Benny Johnson of Turning Point USA sheds new light on the leadership at Anheuser-Busch: the CEO, Brendan Whitworth, is a former CIA Operations Officer that "specialized in recruiting and handling of human sources."

"We have healthcare deserts. We have food deserts. And we wonder why! Our communities look like they look! That we have violence every single day! It is not just on us, it is on the corporate citizens that come into our community and ravage our community. And Walmart, you should absolutely be ashamed of yourselves. You are the reasons that our communities lack the investment that they have," one speaker said.

"We deserve! We deserve to be able to shop, work, play in our own communities."

Walmart said the stores in the Chicago area have lost millions of dollars of merchandise due to theft and security issues.

"The decision to close a store is never easy," company officials said in a statement, according to WTTW. "The simplest explanation is that collectively our Chicago stores have not been profitable since we opened the first one nearly 17 years ago."

"Unfortunately, these efforts have not materially improved the fundamental business challenges our stores are facing," Walmart added. "The remaining four Chicago stores continue to face the same business difficulties, but we think this decision gives us the best chance to help keep them open and serving the community."

Georgia firefighters contain massive fire at resin plant after nearby residents ordered to evacuate
Dramatic photos of billowing black smoke at the link.
[FoxNews] Georgia firefighters contained a massive fire at a resin plant which forced an evacuation order to be issued for some surrounding areas.

The Glynn County Board of Commissioners said in a Facebook post at 6:21 p.m. that an evacuation order has been issued for the area within a ½ mile radius of the Pinova plant in Brunswick, Georgia. At 8:30, the board of commissioners said that the fire has been contained and no injuries are being reported

According to the board of commissioners, the Jacksonville Fire Department has arrived for support.

There was a fire at the plant on Saturday morning that was deemed contained at 9:55 a.m., but according to officials, it reignited by 3:10 p.m. Before an evacuation order was issued, officials originally established a shelter in place order.

The board of commissioners also said in a Facebook post that there will be air drops of water onto the fire throughout the evening.

FSU faker shows academic fraud crisis is real, big and ongoing
[NYPOST] About those "experts" so beloved by ranting Dems in the media and on Twitter: Just how many of them are utter frauds?

Seems like hardly a week goes by without some fresh academic fakery scandal coming to light.

This week’s: A Florida State University professor, Eric Stewart, who resigned from his cushy job at the taxpayer-funded school amid allegations that he’d simply made up data for a study purporting to show racism against blacks and Latinos in criminal sentencing.

Aside from the moral ugliness of his alleged crime — falsifying data solely to stoke up racial resentment — it’s a complete betrayal of universities’ mission.

And paid for by everyday Sunshine Staters, to boot.

But Stewart is far from the only offender here.

Marc Tessier-Lavigne, a neuroscientist now serving as the president of ultra-elite Stanford, is being investigated for publishing papers with manipulated images in them.

Four former Harvard cancer scientists had a paper in the Proceedings of the National Academy of Sciences retracted for seeming data manipulation in February.

Former Yale biologist Carlo Spirli was identified this month as a serial data faker by the Office of Research Integrity, a federal watchdog.

Three top institutions; three major cases of professorial scamming — all from just the first quarter of this year.

And that’s to say nothing of the so-called "paper mills" found in China, Iran
...a theocratic Shiite state divided among the Medes, the Persians, and the (Arab) Elamites. Formerly a fairly civilized nation ruled by a Shah, it became a victim of Islamic revolution in 1979. The nation is today noted for spontaneously taking over other countries' embassies, maintaining whorehouses run by clergymen, involvement in international drug trafficking, and financing sock puppet militias to extend the regime's influence. The word Iran is a cognate form of Aryan. The abbreviation IRGC is the same idea as Stürmabteilung (or SA). The term Supreme Guide is a the modern version form of either Duce or Führer or maybe both. They hate Jews Zionists Jews. Their economy is based on the production of oil and vitriol...
and elsewhere.

These are scuzzy commercial entities that generate papers based on shoddy, cooked or outright fake data and shop them to reputable journals on behalf of the crooked "authors" in hopes of scoring a publication.

Or the "replication crisis" — a beyond-disturbing phenomenon across psychology, sociology, economics and medicine in which the results reported in papers from august institutions can’t be duplicated.

Yet replicability is a foundational element of good research.

In psychology, the non-replicating research accounts for up to 62% of papers. In economics, 39%.

That doesn’t necessarily mean all the unreplicated papers were fake.

But it doesn’t say anything good about data integrity, either.

Look: Most academics, we think, are still honest, hardworking people.

But the huge incentives to cheat — it’s publish or perish! — and the until-recently quite low likelihood of getting caught would put temptation in the way of a saint.

And let’s not forget that as the universities have become more politicized, so too has research.

[Another] Train carrying hazardous materials derails in rural Maine
[NYPOST] A train has reportedly derailed in the state of Maine and officials say they believe hazardous materials were on board."Train derailment with fire north of rockwood, hazzard materials please stay clear!" The Rockwood, Maine Fire & Rescue posted on Facebook Saturday.

The Fire & Rescue team posted a photo of the incident that shows a derailed train and a fire burning in a snow covered forest area.

Rockwood Fire & Rescue did not immediately respond to a request for comment from Fox News Digital.

It is unclear if anyone was injured during the derailment.

Rockwood, Maine, is located on the western side of Moosehead Lake in the northern part of the state roughly 45 miles from the Canadian border.

The railroad tracks in that area of Maine are owned by the Canadian Pacific Railway, Fox 23 Maine reported.

Canadian Pacific Railway did not immediately respond to a request for comment from Fox News Digital.

Britain
Brits 'rejoicing' Meghan Markle won't attend King Charles' coronation
[NYPOST] Brits are said to be "rejoicing" over Princess Meghan Markle
...unlikable American former starlet married to the formerly likable Prince Harry. Chock full of lefty political opinions, Markle's most important characteristic is that she is Black, even though she doesn't look it. Her mother, y'see, is half black and her father is white, which would make her a quarter Black. Her half brother described her (to her husband, before their marriage) as a jaded, shallow, conceited woman that will make a joke of you and the royal family heritage. Once married, she was too good for the Royals and she and Harry decamped to Beverly Hills, kind of like the Clampetts did, thus making a joke of Harry and the royal family heritage...
declining an invitation to King Charles III’s upcoming coronation.

A palace spokesperson confirmed that while Prince Harry
will attend the May 6 event, Markle will stay behind in their expansive mansion in Caliphornia, an impregnable bastion of the Democratic Party,.

The ceremony falls on the birthday of the couple’s son, Archie, who is turning 4. It’s rumored that the conflicting schedule is the duchess’ reasoning for not traveling to London.

Speaking Friday on Sky News, writer Sophie Elsworth took a jab at Markle, arguing she is "obsessed with being in the media" and "dominating headlines."

"I can’t believe that woman is not going because she’s obsessed with herself," Elsworth said, claiming Brits are "rejoicing" that the former "Suits" actress will be "staying well away" from the festivities.

Elsworth said it’s a "good decision" that Markle, 41, is not attending, considering how Londoners "despised" the pair at the Queen’s Jubilee last year.

The coronation comes months after the publication of the Duke of Sussex’s bombshell memoir "Spare" and the premiere of the couple’s unflattering Netflix docuseries.

China-Japan-Koreas
Definitively On The Indicators & Warnings Checklist -Warren Buffett Dumps Billions in Taiwanese Stock as Fears of Chinese Invasion Mount
[SlayNews] Renowned American investor Warren Buffett has just dumped billions of dollars worth of stock for a Taiwanese chipmaker as fears mount that Communist China is preparing to invade the island nation.

The move comes as experts are increasingly warning that a Chinese invasion of Taiwan is now imminent.

Buffett purchased a large stake in a Tawainese chipmaker.

However, he has just sold his stake, provoking speculation that the investment mogul knows an invasion is looming.

Buffett stated that a key reason for this swift turnaround was due to his concerns that China will invade the island nation.
But TSMC is building chip factories in America, specifically to protect the business should China invade. Is that not worthy of consideration?
Reuters reported this week:

Warren Buffett called geopolitical tensions “a consideration” in Berkshire Hathaway Inc’s (BRKa.N) decision to sell most of its stake in Taiwanese chipmaker TSMC (2330.TW) just a few months after buying it, Nikkei reported on Tuesday.

Berkshire had bought more than $4.1 billion of Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Co’s shares between July and September 2022, but in February said it had sold 86% of its stake by year-end.

The size of the investment suggested that Buffett, rather than one of his Berkshire portfolio managers, had bought the shares for Berkshire, and the sale was unexpected given the billionaire’s preference to invest for the long-term.

In an interview with Nikkei, Buffett described TSMC as a well-managed company, but said Berkshire had better places to deploy capital.

Government Corruption
'Idealism and Infantilism.' Who divulged US secrets
Direct Translation via Google Translate. Edited.
[REGNUM] The FBI has revealed the name of a suspect in the disclosure of secret Pentagon documents. It is alleged that behind the largest leak of military-strategic data in the last ten years is a young man who has not served in the US National Guard for more than three years. The comic of the situation is given by the fact that the main accomplice in the large-scale "drain" was a schoolboy, and the first publication took place in the game chat. What is it, negligence in the US Department of Defense or a disguised stuffing of "disinformation"?

Air National Guard soldier Jack Teixeira , who was detained by the FBI on suspicion of "leaking" hundreds of photos of top secret Pentagon documents, was charged on April 14. Teixeira, 21, is charged with "withdrawal and transfer to third parties" of data constituting a state secret. The published documents include information about the US plans for Ukraine and the state of affairs in the Ukrainian army.

Initially, the US Department of Defense data was “leaked” to the Discord platform, popular among schoolchildren and gamers who love computer games. On other large servers, information was posted by a user with the nickname Lucca. As the ABC channel found out , a schoolboy was hiding behind him - "hyperactive, who constantly wants to tell everyone everything."

The game chat on Discord for 20-30 people, which was administered by Jack Teixeira, is called Thug Shaker Central (Thug means "bandit, thug"). Despite the formidable name, the group consisted mainly of children and teenagers, according to The New York Times, which, in fact, published the name of Teixeira. “This guy was a Christian, an opponent of the war, he just wanted to let his friends know what was happening,” one of the site’s participants, a 17-year-old schoolboy, said about Jack.

If the official version voiced by the FBI is true, then hundreds of Department of Defense documents classified as “top secret” were stolen by a young officer who served "a week without a year."

Teixeira only in 2021 began serving in the 102nd Reconnaissance Wing (102 IW) of the Massachusetts National Guard. But children have played a key role in leaking national security data.

The picture that the American media painted raised a lot of questions - from doubts about the quality of storage and protection of secret data in the United States to suspicions about whether Teixeira's "feat" was deliberately throwing a large amount of fakes into the public space.

SERGEANT AT THE GATES OF "PURGATORY"
In his "intelligence wing" of the Massachusetts National Guard (which, like the national guards of other states, is an army reserve - in this case, the US Air Force reserve), Jack Teixeira was responsible for troubleshooting computers and communication systems.

Even as a “relatively inexperienced military man,” he had access to data through the US Department of Defense computer network known as the Joint Worldwide Intelligence Communications System (JWICS), a US official familiar with the case explained. In his opinion, access to JWICS allowed Teixeira to read and possibly print secret documents.

Despite his low rank, Teixeira really, for a number of reasons, could easily get access to secret documents, Lieutenant General of the Russian Foreign Intelligence Service, retired Leonid Reshetnikov, told REGNUM .

"Since everything is now done through electronic systems, certain people sit on them."

An employee like Teixeira can be a lieutenant, a sergeant, or anyone.
There are not many such people, but they exist, and each of them has real access to something. As I understand it, having this access, you can access information on all networks and information that is not directly controlled, but you can access it."

Perhaps the young military man was "sitting" on "a stream of raw information that did not reach the“ purgatory," to the analytical department, which checks the information, classifies, works out, checks for secrecy, for relevance and reliability,” the interlocutor noted . After verification, the information is either reported to departments and governing structures, or it is buried in a "mass grave," the expert explained. "Perhaps, as an electronic intelligence officer, Teixeira had access to read or ensure the operation of the entire system," Reshetnikov added.

MORE LIKE SLOPPINESS
The array of documents published by Teixera is "a stream that did not enter the think tank," which means that we are not talking about a deliberate stuffing in order to misinform Russia or another actual adversary, Reshetnikov believes.

If we were talking about "disinformation" (or about dropping information from a level higher than Tersheira (and this could be assumed, given the internal political struggle in the United States on the eve of the presidential election), then already processed documents would be "merged," "already prepared for publication and more "downhole", says the ex-employee of the Russian foreign intelligence.

It is unlikely that this was a deliberate "leak", calculated, for example, to misinform Moscow or Beijing, agrees Major General of the FSB in the reserve, member of the Council on Foreign and Defense Policy Alexander Mikhailov.

"Not a single state structure can and will not accept publications on foreign sites on faith," Mikhailov told REGNUM news agency. The Russian leadership has data from its own sources, which, by definition, are cross-checked and compared with other sources, the source stressed.

The scandal that broke out makes one suspect that "there is an element of slovenliness here," Mikhailov noted. "If Teixeira downloaded something, then there is necessarily criminal negligence on the part of officials who did not ensure the protection of information," the source emphasized.

"Teixeira acted out of conviction, as did Edward Snowden, as did Julian Assange. We forget that ideological and even idealistic views are at work here. Teixeira decided to express his attitude. Here is a case of displaying one’s political views and, at the same time, infantilism, misunderstanding that they can figure you out," said Lieutenant General Reshetnikov.

"INTERESTED IN WEAPONS AND DOUBTS THE FUTURE OF AMERICA”
As mentioned above, one of the "colleagues" on the game chat in Discord described Teixeira as a Christian and an opponent of the war. Another friend in an interview with the American media described the officer as a patriot, a devout Catholic and a libertarian (supporter of a free economy and minimal government intervention in public life), who is interested in weapons and doubts the future of America.

According to a friend, he met Teixeira in absentia before 2020 on a Discord server focused mainly on guns and libertarian politics, and became close due to their shared interest in Glocks and Catholicism.

Later, the man joined a new Discord server founded by Teixeira called Thug Shaker Central, which became the main meeting place for a group of about 20 people. In real life, Teixeira was "a pretty normal guy," said a friend who ended up getting to know Teixeira personally.

The man also recalled that Teixeira began sharing classified documents on a Discord server around February 2022, with the start of a Russian sting operation in Ukraine, which he viewed as a "disheartening" battle between "two countries that should have more in common, rather than stay apart " .

The exchange of secret documents was intended "to enlighten people whom he considered his friends and who could be trusted", free from propaganda. Server members agreed never to share documents outside of it, as they could harm US interests.

Recent claims by other members of the server that some of its members were Russians and Ukrainians were "pure fiction," the source said. According to him, one of the participants, posing as a "Russian naval officer", actually lived in Kentucky, and was eventually blocked from the server. Another member of Thug Shaker Central ended up sharing the documents on another server, which led to them being circulated online.

Henry Homesteader 9mm Carbine ‐ Classic Look, Modern Performance
[Cheaper Than Dirt] Who knew? America’s prolific producer of lever guns can make a darn fine semi-auto carbine, too. Henry Repeating Arms, the legendary lever gun company with factories in New Jersey and Wisconsin, raised eyebrows a couple months ago when it announced the release of a semi-automatic carbine. It’s called the Homesteader 9mm. I was fortunate to get my hands on one for review. While the exercise was one that I first treated with skepticism, it turned out to be a pretty sweet experience. Here’s how it went.
