#2 13 feet? That's still a juvenile.

#3  the largest male Atlantic great white shark ever recorded by the nonprofit OCEARCH off the coast of Nantucket.

It’s a very narrowly defined record, Mullah Richard, not including larger ones by that group elsewhere, or by anyone else anywhere.

#4 Sharks demonstrate indeterminate growth — they have no final size, but keep growing as long as they live.

This is why we use elephants rather than sharks as an international measure of size.

So, we got giant mutant sharks from ocean acidification and microplastics; increased violent weather events from global warming - Sharknado here we come!

#5 Doesn't exactly sound like Jaws. I think they can keep the beaches open.

#6 Thank you, Mrs. Wife. I was not trying to negate their findings, only that a 13-footer is still pretty young for that breed.

There's been 20+ footers recorded off South Africa, Australia, and (surprisingly) Malta. Those, they suspect, are around 50+ years old.

Fascinating, Mullah Richard. I had no idea — my learning for today. :-)

#9 Tiny in comparison to he largest great white shark ever recorded was caught in southern Australian waters in 1959, weighing 1,208 kg (2,663 lb). Another notable specimen, a female, was measured at 6.1 m (20 ft) long and verified by the Canadian Shark Research Center in 1988.

The shark in "Jaws," known as Bruce, was depicted as being 25 feet long in the film. However, this size may have been exaggerated compared to "large" real great white sharks, which typically range from 18 to 35 feet.

Our family men took to sharks as a hobby after the 1971 movie, "Blue Water White Death". The first documentary ever made regarding the search for Great Whites. A must see for shark week fans and fellow divers.
