2 Small consolation: In my somewhat limited experience working w/Jewish soft targets overseas, they tend to be VERY well-prepared for a range of contingencies. Solid planning, good physical/procedural security, rehearsals/drills, hard points, self-defense plans, etc. Starts w/their mindset re: security.

The original ghetto walls were built by the Jews of the quarter to keep out the rampaging hordes. It was only later that the keys were taken from them by the local authorities to lock the Jews in.
