That’s a flat out lie, which President Clinton knows even if President Obama can’t be bothered too.

After dividing up the original Palestine mandate and giving 70% of it, if I recall correctly, to the Hashemites as the kingdom of Jordan to make up for taking away Mecca and Medina and giving that to the House of Saud, the remainder was divided again in 1947 — one part offered to the Jews to be Israel, the other part offered to the local Arabs now called Palestinians for their own homeland. The local Arabs refused, insisting that they should get it all; the Jews accepted, so in May 1948 Israel was voted into existence, and Jordan came sweeping in taking illegally taking what the world now calls the West Bank to which they were not entitled – the original border of the kingdom of Jordan stopped at the Jordan River. I think it was General Moshe Dayan who had offered in 1948 to the Ben-Gurion government to conquer the West Bank up to the Jordan River, which he said he could do easily, but the new Israeli government pointed out that they did not want the responsibility of ruling over the Arabs and so the West Bank was not conquered in 1948 by Israel. by 1967. It had become clear why Israel could not leave the West Bank in the hands of Jordan, and so the IDF executed Gen. Dayan’s‘s proposal. But unlike the Old City of Jerusalem, Israel has not annexed the West Bank. They’ve been been trying, in fact, to give it back in exchange for peace ever since, but Jordan doesn’t want it, and the West Bank Palestinians refuse to rule themselves properly, instead continuing to foster the modern version of the fedayin whose life work was attacking Jews and Jewish communities until their dream of all the Jews leaving is fulfilled.

unfortunately, for that dream, half of Israel’s millions of Jews were driven out of the Muslim Middle East, where they cannot go back to. And most of the other half of Israel’s millions of Jews fled Europe after World War II for Israel when nobody else would let them in — the world left them to rot in the DP camps for three years after the war ended. They, too, cannot go back.
