Imagine that, "a grossly inflated threat." Who could possibly profit from that?

4 We reached herd immunity on the original virus by late 2021. Then there were several variants each of which was less lethal than the original but mostly able to overcome the immunity to the original virus. It makes the 'what if' calculations very complicated and the results of such calculations have less confidence because of that. People are still contracting Covid and there about 20 variants circulating, none of which seem to be as lethal as the original one. This fall's covid vaccine is expected to provide some degree of immunity to almost all the variants.
