1 China, Russia and the US are all going through huge leadership changes right now. Some is due to loyalty issues, but a lot of generals are the old guard and not willing to embrace the new ways of war.

All the great powers, including the US did this back in 1937-42 as well. They knew what was coming and I suspect Hegseth knows it too. If he is choosing the right men to lead the new modern army... only a war will show that result.
