4 They wanted to downsize the senior officer levels. And part of that is getting rid of any who aren’t enthusiastic about Secretary Hegseth or President Trump. Being a friend of the VP might have gotten him the job, but it definitely wouldn’t be enough to keep him there, given tension with his boss.
