7 We are going to have problems because the Boomer Right will talk down to GOP and MAGA youth and chastise the youth about not being frugal enough, using the Boomers large family units as examples, citing how they can feed their wife and five kids on twenty bucks.

Total disconnect. First, GenZ want large families and cant afford them. Second - telling kids to bargain slop and cook from scratch, I think that missing the point b/c the kids no how we lived and despite revisionist history, a great many of us enjoyed eating out at affordable prices that no longer exist.

The Left does not blame their base and their bases preferences. They create a target and has everyone attack it. Meanwhile many on the right talk down to the base. "Change your habits, stop blaming others," may or may not be true, but it definitely something the base does not enjoy.

The street message needs to synergize with the base, and the mssg needs to be... A good tactic is one your people enjoy.

Or its going to push them into the socialist camp, or they will not show up to vote.

8 Fair enough, mossomo. Nobody likes hearing that kind of thing, because it feels so unfair.

Mr. Wife is end-Boomer, I am beginning GenX. Many of our peers are still struggling to pay down mortgage and credit card debt as the hit retirement, because they lived the way they deserved instead of calibrating to their actual income. That’s what the kids should be comparing themselves to — not the lifestyle their parents have or what they see in commercials and HGTV, but how it is that their parents have it.

Perhaps the kids would like it better if phrased as having enough to retire on is the best revenge. Theirs is not the first generation to be in this situation: my parents grew up during the Great Depression and WWII — they had to deal with the same problem of having significantly less than their parents had had before. Though my grandparents on both sides had been decidedly upper middle/professional class, my father had to support himself in a new country at 15 and my mother arrived at New York Harbor in a borrowed dress, with a high school diploma she’d got in six months to make up for the years of schooling she’d had to miss. They never caught up financially to what their parents grew up with and lost.
