3 Chantry, Understand. Europe could care less about the US economy as long as we keep paying. Let them fight, reset the global economy, the US will still be on top.

4 Russian hoards rolling through the 'Fulda Cap' doesn't appear to be as relevant as it once was. Perhaps it really is time to.... throttle back on the Euro assistance.

BTW, when was the last time you heard anyone mention the 'Fulda Gap'....or did I miss something again?

5 I recall the Fulda Gap on a map covered with acetate drops and grease pencil notations, or with red yarn & pushpins linked to pictures and unit insignia. But at every table top I ever attended by notional day 3 some smart-ass would have intriduced the cottonball 3-D mushroom cloud...

6 NATO (and USEUCOM) should have closed up shop 35 years ago (or significantly reduced its presence) after the demise of the Warsaw Pact, but alas! It only got bigger, moved more than "one inch" eastward, were in Iraq and Afghanistan, and wants to engage with Japan.
