7 Did he have a ticket?

I ask because the San Diego Trolley has no turnstyles and precious little ticket enforcement. Hobos, hoods and other undesirables are not asked for their tickets before they board and so they don't bother buying one. Dunno if that's the case in Atlanta or not but I have reason to believe that strict ticket enforcement would cut down on some of these incidents.

The devastated daughter ripped local officials for temporarily opening the transit system to free riders, including the homeless, during systemwide renovations and failing to properly police its stations.

“To me, it’s negligence with the security and the patrolling,” Sams said.

“Anybody has access to get on and off the trains. If you’re allowing free stuff like that, for me, police patrolling was negligent, there was no security, there was nothing. This whole situation is a situation that could have been prevented.”

10 Why would the feral not kill the ticket collecting agent?

If collecting tickets was enforced, they would have to be prepared to use lethal force when things eventually go sideways.

So frustrating to be have been taught that my forefathers lynched just for the hell of it. Fifty years later and I know better. We should bring back vigilante justice and lynching.

11 The BART system (SF and Oakland) put up tall gates that prevent almost all fare jumping. Crime went way down and fare collection increased.

Other systems are doing this also.

Of course BART is still a fiscal nightmare with O&M way higher than fares.
