1 Accountability is a dirty word. Nobody was held accountable for 9/11, for Iraq, for Afghanistan, for illegal NSA spying and even now not a single person named in the Epstein Files has been arrested.

2 Nobody held accountable? Look at the deaths and rubble in Afghanistan and Iraq, and in the organization chart of Al Qaeda — both the home office and the franchises and the descendant organization, ISIS, and ponder your words.

As for Mr. Epstein’s files, while trials may not be in the offing, the number of men, and some women, who have stepped away from public life and private industry careers continues to grow. They know exactly what could come out to force them to leave if they did not do so voluntarily, even if we do not. I know many here would prefer the formality of trials and jail sentences, but the files are so compromised that it would probably be disastrous to try to use them as evidence. What think our Rantburg lawyers on the subject?
