for these crimes. So yes I suspected the name would have been a giveaway.

Abel, who was born in Camden and has relatives in the US, is said by the Department of Homeland Security to be a repeat offender with a criminal history stretching back several years.

Abel's criminal record has come under scrutiny since his arrest. In October 2024, in San Diego, he pleaded guilty to felony assault with a deadly weapon on a peace officer or firefighter. In April 2025, in Savannah, Georgia, he was arrested for groping four women. He pleaded guilty to four misdemeanour counts of sexual battery and obstruction of an officer. He was sentenced to 120 days in jail, 36-48 months probation, a mental health/psychosexual evaluation, and banned from Savannah for four years.
