6 SAR and USAF E&E training not my areas of any expertise, but it is approaching day 3 of the shootdown and no one has claimed contact, nor discovered a body. So it seems likely, the pilot in contact with either friendly locals, MOSSAD assets or friendly SOF inserts. Given the intense, and likely expansive MANPAD and ADA coverage of the AO, rotary-wing extraction would seem too great a risk for failure and/or collateral aircraft/crew loss. So ground exfiltration or trusted hide location for a time seems most probable? If so, any experienced RB regular have an insight what might happen next?
