1 Paulding County Pipeline Damage — Colonial Pipeline Line 1 Outage

Colonial Pipeline’s Line 1, the largest U.S. gasoline pipeline running from Houston to East Coast markets, was shut down on Tuesday, April 1, 2026 after a third‑party well‑drilling crew damaged a section in Paulding County, Georgia Yahoo Finance+1. The outage disrupted a critical fuel artery that normally moves about 1.5 million barrels of gasoline per day from the Gulf Coast to Greensboro, North Carolina, and onward to markets as far as New York Harbor Yahoo Finance.

Cause and Response
Colonial Pipeline confirmed the damage was caused by an unauthorized drilling operation. The company halted Line 1 to coordinate repairs and prevent further leaks. Crews worked to restore service, and operations were resumed the same day after repairs were completed Yahoo Finance.
