2 I have repeatedly said that 21st Century war will dictate the creation of a carrier-based version of the A-10. Needed it ten years ago, especially need it now.

We also need MORE of them, or a follow-on aircraft. The Air Force is stupid to hate them. The Army doesn't.

3 @ Institutional fighter pilot arrogance. The US Air Farce doesn't want slow, ugly combat aircraft and doesn't want to do air to mud in close proximity to the front lines to destroy such unimportant things like tanks, AFV's, etc. They want to go fast in 'sexy' aircraft bombing high value targets.

6 I thought they got rid of these years ago. Slow, highly vulnerable to SAMs and replaced by the Super Tucano and others. It's a tank-killer, not a maritime interdiction platform.
Also it was designed by a Nazi. One who got every medal the Nazis could award so Hitler designed a special one that only he got. Remained an unrepentant seething mass of hate until the day he finally became a good Nazi.
