2 The rank-and-file Basij are the responsibilities of the local Iranian citizenry. I saw a Facebook Reel the other day — so it may even be true — of some locals giggling on their balcony as they played the sound of a drone buzz overhead, terrifying the uniformed Basij men until they split up and fled.
