7 Those are direct federal employees, a huge success but hardly enough. Remember all of the contractors who live on the federal program dole, and the millions of state and local employees whose jobs are funded by federal programs. Lots more work to do...

At least that's my understanding.

I also understand that the old former J E Hoover building is now up for sale.

10 The first year was intended to be a good start, giving the management team time to figure out where to cut wholesale rather than retail. The next step will be to close sections, but closing entire departments, like the Department of Education will take congressional action.

And that depends on voters putting more Republicans in office.
