1 "$400 million"?

I understood it started out ask a $200 Million dollars project (with private funding), what I don't understand is how did the project expand to $400 million dollars? There's no explanation AFAIK even after a quick search.

What gives?

2 The project is being privately funded, including a check from President Trump’s personal account. If those who are paying accept the additional costs, we have no need to worry.

3 Did anyone really think there wouldn’t be issues with a project on this old of a structure? I’ve watched an episode or two of Fixer Uppers. Bad plumbing, asbestos, you name it. I bet FDR was approving some pretty janky electrical.

4 My hope is that the National Trust for Historic Preservation has marked the point where the Dems jumped the performance art shark.
