18 U.S. Code § 111 - Assaulting, resisting, or impeding certain officers or employees 1 to 8 years or Enhanced Penalty imprisoned up to 20 years.

Minnesota uses both statutory enhancements and the criminal history point system to increase penalties for repeat offenders. The more prior convictions a person has, the more severe the presumptive sentence under the Minnesota Sentencing Guidelines.

Higher fines
Longer jail or prison sentences
Felony charges where a first offense might be a misdemeanor
Longer probation periods
Harsher collateral consequences, such as license loss, employment barriers and FINES $$,$$$.00
