"Genoa, Nev. — A winter storm warning was issued by the National Weather Service starting 10 p.m. today for the Sierra Nevada from stem to stern. The warning expires 10 a.m. Friday with 3-5 feet of snow forecast for above 7,000 feet. Gusty winds are predicted to hit 100 mph on the ridges and 50 mph on the Lake.

Forecasters are predicting hazardous travel conditions in the Sierra through Wednesday and Christmas, so it might be a good idea to find a spot and hunker down for a spell."
