5 IMHO that’s the definition of a bad trade. Who knows how long the aircraft will take to arrive and be operational - having surrendered a very solid defensive system for the duration. And of course Russia could immediately put those units to work. If the Turks were foolish enough to send them to Ukraine instead of returning them there would be serious consequences. On the gripping hand India would pay top dollar for the equipment with Russian acquiescence

The IAF destroyed Iran’s S-400s before they and the US Air Force bombed nuclear sites and such to bits, so it wouldn’t provide Turkey with protection against Israel. Is there any other threat against Turkey in the region that has air assets? ISIS jihadis embedded among the refugees don’t count…
