5 Very possibly the Jewish employers are also immigrants from North Africa, Regular joe, especially if they have three young children. When France gave over her North African colonies, the Jews, who had arrived when Carthage was a thing and flourished under the Roman empire discovered that living under Islamist governments was no fun, and fled to France. Many of them still live in the downmarket suburbs, cheek by jowl with their similarly brown Moslem neighbours.
