7 Massachusett's Million income tax is relatively new. It became law in 2022 and the first year it was effective was, I think, calendar 2023 payable in 2024.

Also, it is on top of the 5% State income tax and a 6% sales tax (groceries exempt) and extra taxes on alcohol, satellite TV, sports betting, insurance premiums and (believe it or not) burial caskets.
