1 Head of US command in Central America leaves amid strikes against cartel boats

One source said Holsey had questioned whether he would be fired as Hegseth sought to clear out the Pentagon.

He reportedly fired former head of the US Defense Intelligence Agency Lt. Gen. Jeffrey Kruse back in August, as well as Vice Adm. Nancy Lacore, who was chief of the Navy Reserve and Rear Adm. Milton Sands, a Navy SEAL officer who oversees Naval Special Warfare Command.

Earlier this month, Hegseth fired Navy chief of staff Jon Harrison, one of his top aides who had been helping him with his unprecedented reorganization of the Pentagon's bureaucracy.

Arguably the most high-profile dismissal was General Charles Q. Brown Jr., who had been serving as the chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff from May 2023 to February 2025.

The administration also stripped security clearances from additional current and former national security officials.

Some wider thought on the matter.
I am:
* All for boarding and ceasing the drug & weapon boats coming in.
* All for locking their asses up.
* All for selling the ceased boats at auction.

BUT!
What if the Cartel or Venezuela/CCP itself sets up the USA by planting a boat full of refugees and sending them out to get killed?

It would not help the USA as it would face charges of mass murder.
The UN, right now, is not under friendly control. So the UN could dispatch a Peace Keeping force against Trump.

Guess which nations, the UN Peace Keeping Force will likely be comprised of?

So before blowing the boats out of the water, the boats should be given a closer look. In short verifying the ship contents (Drugs/Weapon vs. refugees).

You presume the Operational Commander of the strike element does not have high-confidence awareness of exactly what and who is onboard. I would submit that is unlikely given the kinds of observation and collection assets focused on the point of departure and the loading activities prior.
