2 Sarcasm, right, Danny Buoy? The Nazi Holocaust did, despite the New York Times ignoring it as hard as they could. Ditto the Ukrainian Holodomor and all the rest in the Soviet Union under Lenin and Stalin. But to be fair, reporting such stories is generally extremely dangerous, and many modern international reporters prefer to collect their tales from one another in the hotel bar, as far as I can tell.
