After 9/11 the Western political classes' consensus strategy was to make the people in the Islamic world end their support for terrorism by appeasing them.

We paid danegeld and imported elements of Islamic despotism into Western nations. And we flooded Western nations with people from enemy nations.

The idea was to defeat "terrorism" by partially surrendering to Islam.

Only Trump has partially and half heartedly deviated from this consensus that unites the entire political class from Bernie Sanders to Tucker Carlson and Ron Paul and their counterparts in other Western nations.
