Bits & pieces of information over the years has 2, possibly 3 factions Pakistan's government & military:
The hard line Islamist's
The nominally pro Western moderates
and possibly a small group that has not taken either side.

The first two have been fighting over the control of the country for decades, but are evenly enough matched that neither side has risked started a civil war to eliminate the other.
