3 Before they can regain power and do as Carville suggests, Repubicans should approve statehood for the eastern counties of Washington state, Oregon and California. California in particular should be split into six separate states. Dunno how many you can get from Washington and Oregon but I believe the citizens in those counties would love to get out from under Seattle and Portland as much as citizens in inland California would love to get out from under the crooked morons in Sacramento. Any one of these new states would certainly be bigger in terms of both geography and population than some of the eastern seaboard states like Vermont, New Hampshire, Rhode Island and Delaware. They'd certainly bigger and more viable than DC and Puerto Rico.

4 Cheating will be much harder to accomplish in most states even without the SAVE Act. I don’t see a pathway to power for Dems nationally without a lot of cheating. I believe that Bayou Skeletor will be disappointed.

6 Many of the states could be split into blue/red enclaves. I'm sure Texas could do without Austin and Houston. The California landing zones would be good carve-outs.

7 If California split into a number of smaller states without any area joining areas of other states, I think it would be a net gain of Senators for the Dems and a net gain of Representatives for the the Republicans, depending on the number of new states.
The Dems gerrymandering would be much less effective then. If just the preposed State of Jefferson was created, it would be win win for the Republicans.
