6 I’d rather things be tested on animals than go straight from bench testing to humans. Because if we don’t check to see if it blinds dogs, we’ll discover the hard way that it blinds people.

And if the animals aren’t as close as possible to clones. there will always be the question whether the results are wonky because of variation in the animals or because the thing being tested isn’t consistent. Which will mean that a great many more animals would have to be used in the test to generate a sufficient size study to give useable statistics.

TL;DR: The activists are dangerously counterproductive idiots and ought to be thrown into prison post haste. But we already knew that from first principles.
