These are Blitzkriegs, not carefully calibrated, endless engagements.

Look at the Venezuela thing. We captured President Maduro and his wife, killed some Cuban bodyguards, and skedaddled. Or last year’s Twelve Day War with Iran. Though it turned out to br only the first engagement, as Steve S said, it was still only twelve days, not an invasion that left us running the place.

11 The recent Venezuela excursion hardly counts as a war. More like an episode of Cops. We rolled up, snatched our guy, and left. We didn't even stay overnight. No occupation. No regime change. Although the current administration there does seem unusually cooperative for some reason.
