A Scottsdale, Arizona, Shake Shack employee was arrested when he arrived for work Wednesday after robbing his workplace at gunpoint two days earlier.
ABC 15 reported 33-year-old Keondre Simmons allegedly robbed the store at gunpoint on Monday, August 3, 2026. His co-workers told authorities that he allegedly entered the store through a rear door while armed "with a semi-automatic handgun."
He "allegedly forced one employee into a walk-in cooler at gunpoint, then directed the on-duty manager to open the store safe and hand over approximately $2,800 in cash."
Simmons is accused of then locking the employees in the cooler, taking and destroying their cellphones, and destroying the business’s landline phone.

Surveillance footage caught Simmons allegedly leaving the scene of the robbery in a green SUV. Two days later, Simmons was arrested when he drove up in a green SUV to begin his work shift.
Simmons allegedly confessed to the location of the handgun that was used during the robbery and it was recovered by police.

FOX 32 reported that the stabbing victim and two of the shooting victims succumbed to their wounds.
The stabbing victim was a woman who was found “unresponsive in the 4800 block of N. Avers Ave.” around 1:50 a.m. She was declared dead at the scene.
Minutes later, at 2 a.m., a 32-year-old man in “the 300 block of S. Kilpatrick Ave.” was shot in the temple and killed. And then, less than 30 minutes later, a 29-year-old man “in the 2800 block of S. Kedzie Ave.” was killed in a drive-by shooting.

[Breitbart] A female detective in Britain has been fired and reportedly placed on a blacklist that includes rapists and murderers after she criticised her force’s LGBT policies as appeasing people with “cocks in frocks”.
Detective Constable Rachel Fletcher has been fired for “gross misconduct” after she openly denounced guidelines from her former Northumbria Police force, in which supposedly transgender offenders could request to be strip-searched by a female officer.
According to the Daily Mail, Fletcher was reported to a disciplinary panel by multiple male colleagues over her use of the phrase “cocks in frocks” when criticising the transgender policy of the police force.
Her male colleagues also told the panel that they were “offended” when they overheard Fletcher apparently joking with another female officer about imposing a curfew on men to prevent evening sex attacks.
She was also claimed to have been overheard saying that “all men are rapists”. However, Fletcher insists that she merely stated that “all rapists are men”.
Due to her being fired for gross misconduct, the 20-year police veteran will now be barred from any future policing work and will be put on a blacklist for sacked officers, which includes former Met officer Wayne Couzens, who was found guilty of kidnapping and killing a woman in London.
The blacklist also includes serial rapist David Carrick, a former member of the Parliamentary and Diplomatic Protection who was found guilty of raping over a dozen women.
Fletcher’s inclusion on the blacklist comes despite her reportedly being critical in the investigation that led to paedophile Ross Jackson being jailed last year.
Northumbria Police said that she had made “sexist, inappropriate and offensive” as well as “transphobic” remarks.
Commenting on her sacking and inclusion on the officer blacklist, Fletcher remarked: “Offending colleagues does not make me a danger to the public, yet my name is now on a list with rapists and murderers.”
She added in an interview with feminist campaigner Julie Bindel: “Without doubt, these trumped-up allegations came about because the entire force has been captured by gender ideology.”
“They went on a massive fishing expedition to gather as much dirt on me as possible so they could get rid of the big-mouthed feminist.”
Fletcher said that she intends on challenging her firing at an employment tribunal, and plans to argue that her expressed opinions are protected beliefs for which she should not have been sacked.

[FoxNews] Hidden Android passcode that erased traveler's phone during border inspection sparks rare felony case
Your phone holds a running record of your life. It can reveal private messages, photos, financial records and location history. That explains why some people turn to extreme security tools. One of them is a secret phone wipe code that erases stored data when someone enters a secondary passcode. However, using that feature during a federal inspection can create serious legal trouble.
An Atlanta man now faces a felony charge after a special passcode allegedly erased his Google Pixel while U.S. Customs and Border Protection officers were trying to inspect it. Prosecutors say he knowingly destroyed digital property that the government had lawful authority to seize. His attorneys dispute that account. They argue that agents detained him unlawfully and had no valid authority to take the phone.
The unresolved case puts personal privacy and border security on a collision course. It also shows how quickly a phone protection feature can become the center of a federal prosecution.
HOW A SECRET PHONE WIPE CODE LED TO A FEDERAL CHARGE
Samuel Tunick, a U.S. citizen who lives in Atlanta, returned from a vacation in the Dominican Republic on Jan. 24, 2025. CBP officers directed him to a secondary inspection area at Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport. During the encounter, agents took possession of his Google Pixel and asked for its passcode.
Tunick allegedly supplied a code that did not unlock the phone. Instead, an officer entered it and triggered a complete wipe. According to court filings described in published reports, the screen went dark, flashed several times and appeared to restart. The phone remained physically intact, but its stored data was gone.
Federal authorities later allowed Tunick to enter the country. A grand jury indicted him on Nov. 13, 2025, under a rarely used federal law covering the destruction of property to prevent a government seizure. Tunick pleaded not guilty. The charge remains an allegation, and the court has not decided whether the government's seizure was lawful. The case appears to be among the first publicly reported federal prosecutions centered on a phone's duress wipe feature.
HOW THE GRAPHENEOS DURESS PASSCODE WIPES A PHONE
Tunick's Pixel reportedly ran GrapheneOS, an open-source operating system designed to increase privacy and security on supported Google Pixel phones. GrapheneOS replaces the standard operating system. It does not work like a regular Android app.
One optional feature lets the phone's owner create a duress PIN or password. This credential differs from the code that normally unlocks the screen. When someone enters the duress credential, GrapheneOS immediately and irreversibly wipes the device. The process also removes installed eSIMs.
GrapheneOS says the wipe does not require a reboot and cannot be interrupted after it begins. The code works anywhere the operating system requests the device credentials, including the lock screen. The feature could help someone facing a violent thief or another coercive situation. Yet using it during a government search raises a separate legal question. Installing GrapheneOS or setting up a duress passcode is not the crime alleged in this case. Prosecutors are focusing on when Tunick allegedly used the feature and what he intended to accomplish.
WHY A PHONE WIPE DURING A BORDER SEARCH MAY BE A FELONY
Federal prosecutors charged Tunick under 18 U.S.C. Section 2232(a). The law applies when someone knowingly destroys, damages or takes another action against property to prevent the government from lawfully taking custody of it.
The statute can apply at any point surrounding a search or seizure. A conviction carries up to five years in federal prison and may also include a fine. The government appears to view the physical phone as a container. The stored information represents the property agents wanted to inspect and preserve.
According to the indictment, Tunick knowingly caused the contents of his Pixel to be deleted. Prosecutors allege that he acted to prevent the government from taking control of that information. The charge does not require prosecutors to prove that the phone contained evidence of a separate crime. The immediate issue involves the alleged destruction and Tunick's intent when he supplied the code.
However, the statute only applies when the government acts under lawful authority. That requirement sits at the center of the defense's challenge.

“Lt. Gen Charles D. Costanza, commanding general, V Corps, was removed from command,” an Army spokesperson said in a statement. “The matter has been referred to the appropriate authority in accordance with Army regulations.”

Last month, the Department of Defense named Maj. Gen. Thomas Feltey as the nominee to lead V Corps. Feltey, who relinquished command of 1st Cavalry Division on Aug. 4, is set to replace Costanza in October.
Costanza took over V Corps in April 2024. He commissioned in the Army in the armor branch. He has deployed in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom and Operation Inherent Resolve, and has an extensive history of leadership roles in the Army, including leading the 3rd Infantry Division from 2021-2023.
V Corps was reactivated in 2020, meant to bolster the U.S. military presence in Europe. Headquartered in Fort Knox, Kentucky, its forward deployment hub is Camp Kościuszko, Poland. That base is home to U.S. Army Garrison, Poland.
Costanza’s removal of command is the latest shakeup to hit the Army in Europe in recent months. In May, the Pentagon canceled two major troop deployments to Europe, following diplomatic fights with some heads of state. That included a planned rotation of 4,000 soldiers to Poland. After outcry over the canceled deployments, President Donald Trump said that 5,000 troops would go to Poland. In July, the Polish defense minister said that rotations would resume “in the coming weeks.”
In June, Gen. Christopher Donahue relinquished command roughly halfway through his tenure as head of U.S. Army Europe and Africa. Last month the Pentagon announced that it nominated Army Lt. Gen. Kevin Admiral to replace Donahue.
Meanwhile, the Pentagon recently started a review of American force posture in Europe. That review could determine troop presence on the continent.
Costanza’s abrupt removal comes as more than two dozen senior military officers have been removed or sidelined under the Pentagon’s leadership of Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth. The shake-ups have impacted the Army as well, with Hegseth removing Army chief of staff Gen. Randy George and Gen. Chris Donahue, the commander of U.S. Army Europe and Africa.
But Costanza’s ouster was not political and was not done at the direction of Hegseth, two sources familiar with Costanza’s removal told The Hill.
“Conduct that would get a commander relieved at any level,” one of the sources said.

Boeing has been cleared to start producing Joint Direct Attack Munition-Long Range (JDAM-LR) precision-guided weapons for the U.S. Navy. The JDAM-LR is essentially a small cruise missile derived from the JDAM family of precision-guided bombs. The weapon will give the Navy, and potentially other services, a new way to bolster stocks of air-launched stand-off munitions. This all follows the Navy’s announcement of successful test launches of JDAM-LRs from F/A-18E/F Super Hornet fighters back in April.
In a press release yesterday, Boeing announced that it had received an Undefinitized Contract Action (UCA) from the U.S. Air Force valued at $75 million related to JDAM-LR production for the Navy. The Air Force serves as the central manager for the joint-service JDAM program. By definition, a UCA means the parties still have to work out the final details of the deal, which could include the price point. UCAs are often used to kick-start work in response to urgent requirements.
“This first production contract is a major milestone for the JDAM LR program, demonstrating our ability to deliver long-range precision-strike capability at a significantly lower cost,” Bob Ciesla, Vice President of Boeing Precision Engagement Systems, said in a statement, underscoring confidence in the new UCA. “Scaling production of the GBU-75 will provide the fleet with an affordable, sustainable solution designed to eliminate long-range land and sea-based threats to U.S. and international forces and enable them to safely and effectively operate in a contested battlespace.”
GBU-75/B is the designation that has been applied, so far, to complete JDAM-LR munitions. Boeing’s release yesterday also revealed that the core component of the weapon, the so-called Payload Delivery Unit (PDU), has now also been designated BSU-111/B.
Like unpowered JDAMs, the JDAM-LR is more of a kit than a munition by itself. The PDU contains the guidance section, systems to interface with the launching aircraft, a pop-out wing kit, and a compact turbojet engine (understood to be the TDI-J85). PDU is then combined with a standardized low-drag 500-pound-class bomb as its ‘warhead’ to create a complete weapon.
As with JDAM variants – which also come in 1,000-pound-class and 2,000-pound-class variations – the modular kit-type design creates immense flexibility for how JDAM-LRs can be configured. In the past, Boeing has shown depictions of what it originally called the Powered JDAM (PJDAM) paired with general-purpose high-explosive bombs and air-dropped shallow-water anti-ship mines. There are many other 500-pound-class bombs with this same form factor already available, including specialized designs intended to reduce the risk of collateral damage.
