ISWAP Ambushes Rival Boko Haram Faction in Bama, Several JAS Commanders Feared Killed

A fresh and deadly confrontation has erupted between rival Boko Haram factions in Borno State, with fighters of the Islamic State West Africa Province (ISWAP) launching a coordinated ambush on a Jama’atu Ahlis Sunna Lidda’awati wal-Jihad (JAS) faction around Bula Murge in Bama Local Government Area, leaving several senior insurgent commanders feared dead.

Sources told Zagazola Makama that the clash occurred in the Gargash general area around Bula Murge, approximately 11 kilometres north of Miyanti and 26 kilometres northeast of Bama.
Sources said that ISWAP fighters carried out a surprise attack against the rival JAS faction, inflicting heavy casualties during the fierce engagement.
Among those reportedly killed were prominent JAS commanders identified as Abu Ubaida, Modu Kori, Alhaji Modu, Mure, Zarkawi, Sheriff, and Modu Maye, all believed to have played key operational roles within the faction operating in the area.
Sources said the attack forced surviving JAS fighters into disarray, with intercepted communications indicating that the group has begun plans to evacuate its women and families to Bula Daloye, following the destruction of their camps.
The intelligence further revealed that Bula Murge and Nguro Bafuye, two locations previously occupied by the JAS faction, were set ablaze during the assault, depriving the group of key shelters and logistics hubs.
Further intelligence assessed that the latest infighting has significantly weakened the JAS faction in the area and presents an opportunity for security forces to intensify ongoing counter-terrorism operations.
Security sources disclosed that troops operating around Miyanti, Bama, Kumshe and adjoining communities have been urged to exploit the situation by sustaining offensive operations to prevent either faction from regrouping or re-establishing operational bases.
According to the sources, commanders have been advised to maintain pressure on both factions to further degrade their fighting capability and deny them freedom of action across the southern fringes of the Sambisa Forest.
The latest confrontation is the latest in a series of violent clashes between ISWAP and JAS, whose long-running rivalry has continued to reshape the insurgency landscape in the North East.

Troops Destroy ISWAP Hideouts, Sustain Offensive in Yobe

Troops of Sector 2 under Operation HADIN KAI have intensified offensive operations against remnants of the Islamic State West Africa Province (ISWAP), destroying several terrorist life-support structures during ongoing clearance operations in Yobe State.
Intelligence sources told Zagazola Maka that the operation is aimed at flushing out pockets of ISWAP fighters who fled the Lake Chad Islands (LCI) and the Timbuktu Triangle (TT) in search of refuge in inland communities around Gujba Local Government Area.
During the offensive, troops discovered and destroyed multiple terrorist camps and logistics bases used to sustain the fleeing insurgents.
[North Press] Israeli forces shelled agricultural land surrounding the village of al-Samdaniyah al-Gharbiyah in the central countryside of Quneitra on Thursday, with three artillery shells landing in the area without causing casualties or material damage.
A local source told North Press that the shells struck farmland adjacent to the village, prompting concern among residents. The shelling did not result in injuries or damage to property.
The area has witnessed intermittent Israeli shelling in recent periods, with agricultural land and areas near the disengagement line occasionally coming under fire, raising concerns among local residents, particularly farmers who depend on the land for their livelihoods.

Israeli media reported that the two soldiers were killed and four others wounded when an improvised explosive device detonated in their deployment area in southern Lebanon.
On Wednesday, the Israeli military launched several strikes on southern Lebanon in response to what it described as a violation of the ceasefire agreement by the Lebanese Hezbollah.
Lebanon’s Health Ministry said an Israeli airstrike on the southern town of Tebnine killed one person and injured 12 others.
The renewed violence coincides with a new round of talks between Israel and Lebanon in Rome, following a U.S.-mediated security arrangement agreed in June aimed at reducing hostilities along the shared border.

In response to yesterday's incident (Wed.), in which Maj. (res.) Harel Birnstock z"l and Sgt. Maj. (res.) Tamir Vaknin z"l fell, and four IDF soldiers were seriously wounded as a result of an explosion in the Majdal Zoun area, the IDF struck terrorist infrastructure of the terrorist organization Hezbollah in several different areas in southern Lebanon over the past day.
Among the infrastructures that were struck: weapons storage facilities, a headquarters, and additional terrorist infrastructure.
IDF forces continue to be deployed in the security zone in southern Lebanon in accordance with the agreement, and will continue to operate to remove threats to the citizens of the State of Israel and IDF forces.

A deputy coordinator of the Iranian Army Air Force says Iranian pilots relied on maps and basic navigation systems during attacks on U.S. bases, avoiding GPS, inertial navigation and radio transmissions to reduce the chance of detection.
“Our pilots were trained to guide the fighter jets using only maps and rudimentary systems.” IFR
He claimed the lack of outgoing signals gave Iran an element of surprise:
“Perhaps our trump card was that there was no outgoing signal—not even a radio signal—from our aircraft.”
According to the official, U.S. forces may not have anticipated that Iran’s air force would attempt such a mission.

Huh - I read something about that back in March. Allegedly an interview with a fast mover pilot who hit an installation in Kuwait City coming in hot and low (didn't even pop up for a release). Figured it was propaganda. And think it probably still is.
